Oh, I know this would be highly ill-advised of Cryptic to implement. There are just too many creeps who would immediately prove why we simply can't have nice things. But...

*wistful sigh* I would _love_ to be able to retexture, aka _detailed custom paint_ some of my ships. A captured Vaadwaur Astika in mostly-white with a giant rose on the bow (and the ship's name emblazoned below it, or feathers on the rommie pilot destroyers. Something classy-yet-distinctive.
