Fleet login announce?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Is there any such feature (or why not) to announce logins in fleet chat? Unless the fleet chat is already busy, everybody just uses the benefits of the fleet but keeps to themselves...not because they're anti-social (well, almost never), but just because the awareness isn't there.

    There's no feature. The only way to tell if someone comes online is if your friends with them.

    And fleet mates thought I was nuts adding them to my friends list. LOL

    I'm fairly sure XMPP supports a room "join/leave" announcement, and I really think it would be helpful to facilitate fleet unity or awareness.
