I just looked at a DPS parse of someone. Their "Kemocite weapons" proc was 6,700 dps. More than the entire damage of half the pug players in the STF and 40% of his own total damage. Kemocite weapons is a fairly rare Boff skill, but this is just the tip of the ice berg.

Now that the doff packs grant Crtd to weapons officers those suddenly become a must have as well. This is way way beyond power creep.

With this trajectory I have to seriously decide whether I will quit STO. I will not play a pay to win game out of principle even though I have over a billion EC and could equip one toon to this absurd level of Pay To Win requirements.

Even if I do shell out the billion or so EC it would require to compete I am fairly certain this Pay to Win avalanche of new abilities in every lock box and doff pack will continue quickly bankrupting me.

Whenever someone says "pay to win", I wonder "win...what?". What exactly are you "winning" by paying money? Unless you are PvPing, you aren't "winning" anything that anyone else isn't also getting. You still get the exact same rewards for completing the missions as everyone else, regardless of what you paid for. Plus, you can get anything from the game store without spending your own money. Sure, it's a grind, but it's very doable. So if you want to call that "grind to win", fine, but I still ask what exactly you are winning?

What are you winning? Seriously, though. Declaring under an ambiguous term of "winning" and flaming isn't really appropriate.
