of who knows.
So yes, you my dear player that is playing this game for who knows how long, cryptic didn't give you nothing over the years, NOTHING.
they value you so little, that they gave a free ship to a player that didn't play this game for who knows how long, and maybe now he decide to get back (or probably wont).
you should be smarter, and you should all so stop playing for a couple of years, so you to could get 1 ship for free. because, you wont get anything for free (6 ships) if you play this game on regular basis.
Right...RIGHT!

They did lose a bunch of players at the time of DR launch (10/2014) but still this looks like an unprecedented number of whining about Cryptic being fair to active vs inactive players. The freebies is a market ploy PWE does yearly. Just happens this year is a bit more aggressive than previous ones. IMO I don't mind it at all. You are free to stay or not. Cryptic does not owe nothing to me and neither I owe to it. It's up to me to decide wherever I pleased to spend my time and money on.
You're free to leave the forum at any time convenient for you!
But then he wouldnt be able to whine about other people whining!

And before you give me the 'it wasn't free, you had to grind for it,' thing.. they all took 3-5 min of effort once a day for a couple weeks. It was barely more effort then taking a nap.
People just need to find something to cry about.
Exactly this! It may have cost 5 minutes of time, but you get rewarded with a ship that is free, it's still virtually the same as getting a ship for doing nothing, no matter how many different ways people try to spin that it isn't.
Same and I barely played over the past year and got them, plus other freebies.
I'm really not bothered by this although there's still that small part of me that wishes the entire community was treated equally and received the free ship and xp boost.
I tend to agree here. Considering the influence if the Nandi for DPS or the Samsar on tank buils one can really say that “free” stuff in this game isn’t necessarily bad stuff. I can imagine some decent sci builds on the Breen carrier as well.
The list of free stuff even gets longer: Free upgrade tokens, free sepc points. Yea we got it all sometimes even without a grind just for logging.
As far as the topic is concerned I think peeps should really notice that a gifting 10 spec points and one tier 6 ship is basically nothing. If those players have been away from game that long it won’t even get the anywhere.
Let’s look at the interesting part. The whole subjects just shows that Cryptic is in need to attract customers. The over-consumed ones are important to them. As far as I am concerned they realized that they overdid it with the best expansion ever. They will at least think twice before pulling off something like it again.
That’s good to know because if it would have been me leaving the game over it those few handed out tips would only make me laugh hard 6 months or 1 year down the road.

I think the Andromeda is a pretty ship, but other then that, I prefer all 3 of the give away ships over the Andromeda. Would I like a chance to earn a free Andromeda? Sure.. I would. Am I going to throw a fit over it? No.
It's just not that big of a deal to me. STO gives away WAY more then any MMO I have ever played and it's not even close.
If it was meant for inactive players then someone's built their SQL query with the wrong boolean value
Has it been officially explained as an attempt to draw people back in?

my first line should be obvious that i'm talking to ungrateful players. but i see that expecting to actually read is to much.
I don't need to be a God-ship. I just want a setup that feels "finished" and build up from there.
