Skill revamp ideas

Since it looks like this change won't be coming anytime soon, much like the crafting updates.

I had a few ideas I wanted share and discuss.


I think it would be interesting to make at least two trees based on career specific ones like Security, warp cores/singularity engineer, medical officer. Plus one general starship systems tree. Unlike specializations there is no secondary and primary, you can invest as much as you want in any of them, at least getting one admiral level skill in each tree. With separate ground trees with some overlap like medical officer.

A examples of skills I think would be nice, warp core engineers get a skill that adds +5 max weapons power to warp core. Singularity get one that negates or lessens the power penalty.

Weapons officer all get a skill in targeting and use of weapons at 12km instead of 10.

Medical officer Medical teams restores crew and increases crew regen and resistance, allowing greatly increased base hull Regen to you and your allies with in 5kms.
