It's been a LONG TIME since Captain's of any FACTION recieved an upgraded Starship.
Be nice with Season 11 or in near future if level 60 Captain's upon completion of one of the missions would offer a permanent reward for all characters to earn a free Tier V faction ship that was T5U capable. Of course if Cryptic was to do this they'd have to market it in a manner to generate revenue without penalizing those who have purchased Tier 5 Faction Ships or Lockboxes. I address how they may do this in a fair manner that doesn't penalize those who've previously purchased Tier V ships, yet also makes Tier V ships attractive in the Zen Market either to use & upgrade, or additionally to acquire for EPIC consoles.
So why not make available a Faction specific Tier 5 Escort, Sci Ship or Operations Cruiser that can be T5U but ONLY WITH with 2 Ship Upgrade Token's not 1 (1400 zen) as it is a free Tier V Ship; similar in fashion to how different Fleet Ships may require 2, 4 or 5 Fleet Ship Modules.
Now I realize tier 5 Starships are currently purchased from 2000-2500 zen unless obtained from a Lockbox, but it may also make sense to reduce prices for those ships on Zen Market to 1200-1500 zen that then require only 1 (700 zen) Ship Upgrade Token as the lower prices will keep demand high for T5 ships either for the console or to upgrade and play. Since why pay 2700-3200 for a single T5U when you can get a T6 for 3000 for all Faction Captains on an account. Then even if you require 1 Ship Upgrade token per character to upgrade the ship to T5U it's still slightly cost effective to still upgrade 2 Ships over the cost of a T6.
This none-the-less gives all Captains a slightly more capable Faction ship along another options for upgrading their Characters Starships.
