STO Make-Overs or "Boy, that would be cool..."

Time for my annual forum post.
Just thought I'd drop a few ideas for some suggested re- ... upgrades? in the game. Some things I'd like to see. No real hope that we'll ever see them. But, doesn't hurt to ask, right? Some of this may have been mentioned elsewhere.

Breen Space
Deferi space has been reorganized and expanded. The Breen system is now on the map. How about some Breen patrol encounters in that sector ( aside from the "Rescue Deferi Captives" mission)? Breen space IS enemy territory and the Breen do not take kindly to intruders. Would be a nice place to run into those capitol ships.

Bajor
For those of us in 2410 - who have moved past the Dominion arc and Undine incursions and advanced to the Iconian War era - there is no longer any need for an occupied Bajor. Hathon is a beautiful piece of work. Would love to a see a peaceful version, minus the protesting crowds, barrackaded streets and ever-present Klingons. Could even throw in some peace time diplomatic and trade missions ... Defera has a calm and welcoming version, albeit with nothing to do. Why not Bajor?

DS9 Exterior: Terok Nor has been a trade and transport hub for a long time. Now, with the Cardassian Empire gone and Bajor part of the Federation, it should be even busier. There's plenty of player Federation, Klingon and Romulan traffic. How about some civilian ships? The station's big curved structures are docking pylons. We should see big ships docked there all the time - not all of them but two or three would be good. Top and bottom. Maybe one of the Odysseys as well.
Interior: DS9 is argueably the most popular station in Star Trek and the game. Inside, there's a lot of space and very few people. It should be busy, for the reasons given above. Mostly civilians, though it wouldn't hurt to have a couple squads of Starfleet Security wandering around. There should be music heard outside the doors of Quark's and a small crowd of worshippers in front of and/or inside the temple. Place a couple more vendors or mission contacts in those empty Promenade kiosks.
As for Starfleet Security, I'd suggest moving the Caitian officer out of the Promenade cantina where she is logging contraband and prisoners to a more secure location, like the multi-purpose room/shipyard. Add an infirmary and clutter that space up more to make it look like an essential part of a busy commercial hub.

K-7
Wow. If any locale deserves an upgrade, it's Deep Space K-7. The most strategically important and most used station in the game, second only to ESD. Understandibly, the nostalgic TOS era K-7 is good for lower level/beginning play. However, you would think that by 2410 at least, K-7 would be refitted or replaced appropriate to it's importance. Not as visually depressing inside as 39-Sierra, it is still drab and inefficiently designed.
Suggestion: Create a second Sherman System map and station accessable only to, say, Rear Admiral's and above. Something similar to 39-Sierra. Post-New Accord, Starfleet should've devoted some resources to bolstering their presence in the old Eta Eridani War Zone ... And, please, give the lovely Lieutenant Mercedes Santiago a job other than official greeter. Put her behind a counter somewhere taking contraband and prisoners.

All in all, I like the state of the game. Season 10 is fun and I'm looking forward to Season 11 and the Admiralty System.
I still would love to see a relatively simple addition to regular play that I think would greatly enhance the STO experience - I'll call it -

OIC for Officer-in-Charge.
Essentially, before beaming down to an away mission, the player has the option of his 'captain' leading the mission on the ground or designating a Bridge Officer in his/her stead. Direct player control of that BOFF takes place as soon as the away team beams down and the officer in charge is played as a player character for the duration of the mission. No modifications of the NPC's stats are needed. The BOFF uses its equipment and skills as is ... Think of the possibilities and the fun.

    So much this.

I'd also like to see some very expansive countryside on Bajor similar to Virinat colony prior to its destruction. The day-night cycle and general ambiance is great if it wasn't ruined by the occasional shouting that seems so out of place.

Add some multi-story level buildings one can explore, each level having certain amenities, and different zones of the map containing random duty officer missions or actual diplomatic missions, host weekend or week-long special events, add weather effects, times of day coinciding with varying NPC population levels, offer assistance to the Bajoran militia in tracking and using melee attacks to bring down criminals, host random PvE scenarios similar to 'snow borg invasion in Q's WW' but on a Bajoran appropriate theme, something that would take place at random locations on the map that players can notify each other about in local chat for assistance, add basic farming for crafting goods that can be traded or used in DOFF chains or for combat missions... the list of possibilities is endless.

    Wat?

Have you seen DS9? Or Drozana? Or Starbase 39? They're all busier than K-7.
