Almost necro'd a few times, people seem to catch this on the 29th day to revive it.
Why is devtracker something to have, it seems to me putting a beacon on every single crypic employee is......well weird and stalkerish.
I am not sure if you were here before we converted to the Vanilla forums, but the dev tracker used to be a feature provided by the devs themselves. Unfortunately the new forum does not support it but from what I recall, the devs would not be averse to restoring it if they found a way to do so.
As for your concerns, I would be more apt to agree if we were talking about people's personal accounts as opposed to their public work accounts and had an official dev tracker not existed before.

It's useful to know dev comments on things, since they're official. On threads that explode, Borticus might comment on page 22, of a 35 page thread. Finding what he said's going to be tedious. Likewise, if you have 4 threads on a subject (like doffing missions going away), finding the one that he commented on requires either dedication or luck. With a dev tracker, it becomes really easy.
It's not always easy and definitely not convenient to look for devs' posts manually. And why would you want to look for their posts? Well they're as official a communication as you can get on game matters: known bugs, intended behavior and thus possible exploits, events, ...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Are they still working on getting an "official" Devtracker? Because I would really love an official Devtracker. This is a good compromise for the moment, though.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

New dev. Avatar is kind of creepy.
