Vulcan visors visibly vacant? Valiant vanguards voicing vulnerable vanity!

So, I notice Cryptic is interested in opening up more options in the costume editor. I think this is a great idea!

However, while looking through the new tailor format, I noticed something missing.

Vulcans don't get access to the visor headgear options other species tend to have. Not the unlockable ones, the default visor headgear options that have been absent since 2010.

Since I'm sure this was something ignored a long time ago, I thought I might revisit this request now that Cryptic is putting more effort into giving more customization where there wasn't before.

This guy is Chu'lak. He is not your friend, as the hallucination of Joran Dax is discovering while observing him. He's a science officer, and like most vulcans, does not seem to be wearing any sort of headgear.

Perfectly normal, yes?

Well, in the DS9 episode "Field of Fire", this is not just any vulcan. Chu'lak is a vulcan with a form of PTSD as a result of being one of only six survivors of the USS Grissom that was lost during the Dominion War (not the Oberth-class in Star Trek III).

His weapon of choice is the TR-116 Rifle, which has been in STO since launch as the TR-116A, and semi-recently returned as the TR-116B.

What's this? This is the visor he uses to shoot through walls as a type of x-ray vision. Ezri Dax is also wearing the same visor since Chu'lak is planning to snipe her, and she is going to shoot him first.

This visor model is also in the game, and has been since game launch. Unfortunately, vulcan characters were not permitted to use the visor options because... well... reasons, I guess.

However, now that we're seeing more customization, I think it's time for vulcans to be given permission to wear the visor options as they continue to fight for the Federation in the Iconian War.

The unlockables are fine and dandy, but the one Chu'lak wears is already in the game and available for most characters. So... how about it?

Chu'lak is already in prison, so I don't think he'll be a problem anymore.

No. The fewer options for Vulcans the better. I'd also take away their options to wear sunglasses and sunvisors. I'd take their shirts off their backs if I could as well.

    Damn dirty Vulcans.

I'm really bad at identifying this, but I think the quoted post was a sarcasm. :D

As for me - Yes to more customization, for everyone. Need I say more? :p

Just to clarify, yes it was sarcasm. I'll officially go on record to support the inclusion of visor options for our Vulcan friends.

I knew it was sarcasm. That's why I posted Zoidberg instead of seriously trying to argue my point.

My question is 'should it stop there?'. Look around Delta Quadrant Command/Jenolan Sphere - there's a couple NPCs wearing the 'Ktarian game' headset from TNG: "The Game", not available to players; the Dyson's Ch-Eng in STO: "A Step Between Stars" wears a Visor 3 with a Romulan helmet, something players can't do (something that personally annoys me since it means no helmet-eyepatch combinations, no helmet-intel combinations, nothing like that)... I think - especially with the Risian sunglasses, the intel visor and the 'Club 47' sunglasses that have been added in recent years - not just visors but all headgear needs to probably have some new looks taken at and tweaked, either individually or as part of a larger 'upper body' inititive like the recent 'pants, belts and footwear' one that did so much in that area...

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

No, it shouldn't. I urge every person who plays STO that feels very strongly about customization to make their opinions heard. Even if this happens, I will always encourage more of it. When we become complacent, that is when we really lose.

It can be used on female costumes in the foundry for some reason.

All pieces should be available all the time. I know things clip and interfere - let 'em. If they don't look good together, people won't use them together. It is self-policing.
