Fleet system change

I submitted a ticket about this suggestion I have, but I also wanted to put it forth to everyone as well. But I must tell you a story first.

Recently I had an issue with one of the leaders in my fleet. He tried to demote me because I disagreed with him, but because of the two week wait time, I was able to undo the demotion on my other char that was also of the top rank. When I refused to give in and the members of the fleet also went against him, instead of just leaving he decided to kick all of the members out and destroy the fleet. Luckily for my fleet we had alt fleets and most of the members went into them after they were kicked. Eventually he gave up and left and I have my fleet back, and we are currently rebuilding.

I do not want to see this kind of thing happen to another fleet. So my suggestion is: If a fleet has more then one leader all leaders must agree to a member being kicked. Basically the same system we have for the armada. This will prevent a disgruntled leader from destroying a fleet, and better protect members of the fleet from them.

So what do you guys think?

Fleet leaders should be able to unilaterally kick other non-leader members of the fleet. The way that this could work is by having a system similar to demoting other fleet leaders. Instead of insta-kicking someone, you could have a system in which "kicking" them puts them on a similar countdown, say 1 or 2 weeks. But during that time, that kicked member has been "freezed" from using the fleet stores, fleet bank, and fleet chat. Other fleet leaders could stop the actual "kick" from happening if it isn't justified. If it is justified, it will go through anyway.

There could also be additional programming to allow "newly" joined members to be insta-kicked without the count down.

Looks to me that the system worked as intended...didn't you get the fleet back before the other leader actually KICK you out forever. Otherwise, you wouldn't be holding leadership of that fleet.

Unfortunately there's no 'one perfect solution that easily solves everything'; BUT at least with the systems in place, you were able to retain Fleet control and not loose all the time and effort put into your Fleet. Nothing can protect against someone who really want to 'go rogue' as anyone with enough rights in a given system.

For example - if there was a way to unilaterally kick someone; that power could be used against you as well, meaning you'd have lost the Fleet completely. The only real way to prevent it, is have one or two persons you really trust (and again nothing's perfect/foolproof) have top rank and everyone else be below them. If you have multiple people with full Fleet rights - then you have to deal with the fallout if/when one of them goes ballistic - which appears to be what happened here.

the only thing you can do is keep offline records of who's in the Fleet, so once you regain control you can explain what was going on and invite them back.

You have missed the point completely. Because the other leader couldn't kick me, he kicked all the members instead, and essentially destroying the fleet.

I was talking about a member who is not of the top rank. That should stay the same, I was suggesting that all leaders have to agree to a lower rank member being kicked. They did this for the armada, as when the probation period is up all leaders have to agree to leaving the armada. They could do the same thing for fleets.
