How about a DHT [Dual Heavy Turret] in game? Limit 1 per vessel!

    Then I'm absolutely against this. Pure powercreep.

    Yes, because this would totally blow a omni beam array, right out of the water right?

    Omnibeams should be nerfed to turret DPS at least. And they'd still outperform turrets because of how FAW is built.

    Well, you are really wrong here, dear.

    If you think dealing almost 1000k damage with a turret is the same as "regular" turrets.. i dunno wat to say. And mods desnt mean anything when we talk about damage output. I deal more damage with my heavy turret than with 3 normal ones at the same time... and rapid cannon feels like a cannon, not a turret lol.

    I dont care about numbers, i only know that watching my heavy turret working is like watching my DHCs.

    If i ever want other heavy turrets, i will amazingly glad they are like the actualy disruptor/phaser heavy biomolecular one. They perform amazingly well, despite what you apparently say.

    1k dmg from a turret isn't saying much, as the heavy turret only fires twice per cycle, while the regular turret fires 4 shots per cycle @ 1/2 the dpv of the heavy per shot!

    So, for an example, let's say the heavy is showing 1k per shot and, the regular is showing 500 per shot!

    Now, just using those #'s without consideration to range/wp loss/etc...

    The heavy would inflict 2k dmg in its 2 shot cycle, while the regular would inflict 2k in its 4 shot cycle.

    heavy@1k dmg per shot x 2 shots=2k dmg
    regular@500 dmg per shot x 4 shots=2k dmg

    Now picture if we added a dual heavy turret@2k per shot x 2 shots=4k dmg

    As for them performing better if they were nerfed=Yes

    Well, for me, 1k damage for a turret just only counting on base damage boost is a lot of damage. Dude, in my pilot im dealing more than 2k damage with all the buffs with my heavy turret already.. its a reason we can only mount 1 of those, trust me, it is good enough lol. Are you sure about the heavy firing only 2 shots?? i could swear ive seen it firing 3..

    Sure why not...cannons can use a boost....but all or nothing imo...the unique equip stuff doesn't do much good.

    Yes, it has a standard shot rate of only 2 shots, as it mimics the shot cycle rate of a DHC - the dual part!
