New PvP league

I should write this for the Admin of this League (he can't, no permissions...), so... not my text, I'm only the courier.

We want to inform you about the new STO pvpleague . We start at 01.08.2015 with the first matches . registered you today and visited us at http://sto-pvpleague.com/index.php/en/

    I will sign up for the ground pvp league if it exists! The date format might confuse some people. He means August 1st 2015

    lol, u guys wanna start a league in a long dead pvp system? without rules or anything? good luck with that. btw for the ones who didnt notice: pvp died the moment DR came out and cant be revived cause of cryptics general direction and business model. wake up guys its dead! sad but true...

    anyways, greetings to all former pvp players. it was a lot of fun before the unbalanced and broken things were introduced. thanks all for the fun we had.

    There are Rules in the league, made with some pvp-guys. And we have also a general new, big regulation: http://sto-forum.de.perfectworld.eu/showthread.php?t=370462

    It isn't dead... There are rules whish bans all the unbalanced and broken (and unfair) stuff. There are the "STO-Bolzplatz", the "Fight Club" and this league, good, this all came from the german community, idk how it looks here, but the pvp in general isn't dead.

    wow, that looks like vanilla pvp. idk if it can be fun this way. we tried sth similar and it was fun for a few matches but it lacks the complexity and variety of builds. effectively u could only play as a healer (OP), vaper(not effective) or dogfighter (which can be fun). our experience was that the heals were very overpowered compared to vanilla dogfight dmg output. it was fun when we were only fighting in dogfight escorts, the moment a healer got in the match the fun dried out really fast. have fun trying to kill someone for hours with a vanilla scort vs a team with a decent healer. my suggestion is that u guys limit it to escorts only. it will be a lot more fun, believe me ;)

    I think, there is a misunderstanding :d The "Standard-Regeln" aren't the rules for the league. The League-Rules are found in the link in the first post ;) But they must be translated anyway, I see right now...

    Well, I can't read German and I'm assuming most people reading this forum can't also.

    I don't really see the point of this announcement if you don't have a translation of your rules.

    huh, i have nothing to do with the organisation of this league. i was just hinting to the OP that he may want to translate the rules if he wants english speaking ppl to join ;)

    since noone else is doing it i felt free to translate the current ruleset.

    rules:

    1. ships
    a) all ships allowed, including t6/fleetships
    b) not allowed are all shiptraits obtained through leveling the mastery (e.g.: all hands on deck, supremacy...)
    c) not allowed are all T6 ship consoles as well as special ship abilities (e.g.: hide weakness, pilot ship maneuvers)
    update: to clarify about starship traits: all traits that u get through leveling a ships mastery are forbidden; with the current ruleset its only allowed to use two starship traits: predictive algorithms and pedal to the metal)

    2. gear
    a) all gear is allowed, including epic quality
    b) all weapon types are allowed
    c) big and small battieries, teambatteries, subaspace field modulator and nimbus pirates are allowed
    d) all hangar pets obtained through the dilithium / EC store are allowed (yellowstones f.e. are obtained from the fleet)
    e) strongly forbidden are embassy plasma proc consoles!

    3. traits
    a) all personal traits are allowed except failsave scrambler and blaze of glory
    b) all active and passive reputation traits are allowed

    4. general/bridge officer skills
    a) all bridge officer skills that were available before the release of DR are allowed. Every other bridge officer skill is strongly forbidden (e.g.: pilot boff skillls, kemocite, resonance beam)
    b) all active specialisation skills are strongly forbidden (e.g.: rock n roll, intelligence fleet)

    5. specializations
    a) you must use intelligence specialization as primary
    b) you must use pilot specialization as secondary

    6. teams
    a) no cloak in 1v1 matches
    b) max two captains of the same class in 3v3
    c) max three captains of the same clas in 5v5
    d) max 2 hangars per team (recluse f.e. already has two hangars)

    7. additional rules
    a) max ONE of the following per team: aceton assimilator, TIF (temporal inversion field), SIC (blackhole), AMS (antimatter spread)
    b) no d`kora emp burst
    c) all doffs higher than "very rare" are forbidden. scramble doff and placate doff are forbidden.
    d) not allowed are the following consoles: fluidic phase decoupler, kobali console.
    e) not allowed are the RnD traits engineering, science and shields.
    f) RnD plasma torpedo is forbidden
    g) console switching is strongly forbidden

    Overall nice rulesetup. Was thinking about joining in actually, but dont like the no cloak in 1 on 1 as it is clearly biased to warpcore ships and specially romulans on lockbox ships.
    The no cloak policy in 1 on 1 should be only if 2 ships have cloak aviable, as otherwise for the battle cloak warbirds lose either hull/turn/weaker sing core and -40 power or 5/2 setting/weaker singe core and -40 power.
    Set in 1 on 1 your shields/weapons or engines by -40 power and tell me if its no difference.
    And to fly few matches i wont get a lockbox ship...

    For example there could be a rule setup that doesnt allow you to cloak for example after initial run, or just doesnt allow you to cloak and run (for example longer then 7-10s in fight). But no cloak is clear biased for warpcore ships

    3on3 was only 5 fight 'till now (Nibirius vs Server Not Responding / 0:15), but new teams are in building

    The specialization requirement is pretty dumb for those of us who focused on other primaries (like command). Also the trait limitation should probably be updated to be clearer- there's a lot of starship traits that are available that aren't from mastery, not just 'two'.

    traits from missions should be included, now I understand the no Kemocite and DRC, but no plasma science console, need to get new stuff then. The rules should be, anything pre delta goes, BAM.

    Yes and no, as Pre DR plasma consoles were compleatly different and as long as you have the WCE doff and HE you were immune to its dmg.
    The new ones not only make lag on procing as currently it seems (what some testers of cryptic said) the game cant handle so more then 2-3 proc'es on 1 weapon shot (and without the emergency fire trait).

    Althrough on specialization i agree. Pilot should be banned as its the biggest lag maker in game and alldmg immunity is against every reason in PVP, but commad could be allowed (even when i dont use it personally).

    Also 1 thing is unclear...
    It says no cloak in 1 on 1's - so its not battlecloak/klingon cloak? (what is very unfair for warbirds) alone or are abilities like Romulan t5 active and Warp shadows are also inclouded? (but is isnt it overnerfing warbirds? its not like there is any other romulan on warbird exept me in the league - they all just fly warpcore ships as they are OP over other races on them :D).
