Joining our Lock Box offerings for the first time, players will have the opportunity to obtain a Cross-Faction Starship Trait Pack. Depending upon the faction of the player opening the Lock Box, they will be presented with a Choice from two Starship Traits not usually available to them:
Federation: Overwhelming Force -OR- Tactical Retreat
Klingon: Tactical Retreat -OR- Reciprocity
Romulan: Overwhelming Force -OR- Reciprocity
For those not in the know, Reciprocity is one of the more over-powered Starship Traits, which reduces the cooldown of Tac and Intel abilities whenever an enemy misses you (which will occur a fair amount if all your BOffs have Subterfuge and you're being shot at). While not a huge thing for Tacs in Scimitars that already have All Hands on Deck Starship Trait, this is a large boon for Engineers and Science chars, and pretty decent for Tacs in Intel ships.
Though, the bad news, it's a lockbox single-char drop. On top of that to get the Starship Trait box for Romulans, the char opening the main lockbox has to be Romulan faction (confirmed by people working on the game over at the Reddit thread for this box), so the boxes are probably going to be rarer and more expensive than the Fed boxes on the Exchange.
Overwhelming Force is an interesting if not nearly as OP trait, it gives a pretty green shield draining burst whenever you use Beam Overload (via BOff or [Over] mod) and a burst that scatters enemies and does minor damage whenever you use Torpedo High Yield.

Yeah, it's going to be expensive to grab one, to the point that all of these boxes I'm likely to open on a Romulan (as the Fed trait box is going to be pretty cheap as the two options aren't even close to OP, and Feds have plenty of traits anyway, and my KDFs are Tacs with AHoD) and hope for this to drop.
While you can't basically solo STFs anymore on any but the most expensive and highly tweaked builds, you can at least cover for one person nowadays with a bit of effort. I usually find at least 3 out of the 4 PuG mates I get in GGA and ISA have more than enough DPS, but oftentimes one is a bit short. Also, it's a huge boon if you like the canonical D'Deridex which has limited Tac slots.
