Applied tech Upgrade. Ate Upgrade, ate dill. Nothing happened.

in Duty Officer System and R&D
As the title said I applied a Superior Upgrade to a device, had the Dill. pressed the magic button and nothing happened. My Superior tech upgrade was eaten along with my dill.

this has happened 3 times now and I'm frustrated. I don't know what to do!
Help.

    It depends. Is your item already at level XIV? If you're trying to upgrade a Mk XIV item to very rare, ultra rare, whatever, please note that the upgrade system only gives you a percentage chance of improving rarity so the vast majority of upgrades may be moot.

    This is why most crafters tend to craft an item at Mk II to get their desired mods before upgrading from there. Otherwise you may as well throw your dilithium into a black hole.
