You do realize the event is over now, right? You do realize that your posts in this thread have all been since the event ended, right? You do realize that by continuing to post in the thread, you're only keeping the thread alive, and by continuing to protest the event, you're only stirring up drama, right?
No logic to be found in some posters' comments, my friend and Praetor.
The Rihannsu fled the dogmatic imposition of logic to be free. But some players in the fora might want to have a frank conversation with a friendly Vulcan sometime, and maybe learn a thing or two
It's non-Star Trek. Keep it Trek and take your celebration to a forum that's relevant to it. Keep this Trek.
"Pretty sad that you have to make everything about you and your preferences." NOT! I have nothing against LGBT WHATSOEVER! But what does your event have to do with Star Trek Online? That's the point. Best comparison I could make would be if someone had a Fleet event that celebrated the end of slavery and the victory of the North over the South in the Civil War. This isn't the forum for that! THAT'S THE POINT!
Keep this Star Trek. It's a Star Trek General Discussion thread/forum. What the heck does a Fleet event about LGBT Pride have to do with Star Trek?! NOTHING!
I'm not anti-TRIBBLE at all. What your sexual preference is is absolutely irrelevant to me. Whether your happy or sad about the court's decision is irellevant. This isn't the forum for that.
And that's why it should have been closed or moved to the Fleet forum.
You might try looking at the OP, then you'd see that the OP has NO signature to be offensive.
You're right! My apologies. Was referring to shazia9191 sig. Disgraceful! In any case a non Star Trek thread. Shut er down or move it to Fleet.

What's to stop the next non-Star Trek Fleet Event from starting tomorrow? Keep it Trek. I like Star Trek. That's why I'm here. And if I hate anything...it's allowing non Trek stuff to take front and center stage in a forum that's about Star Trek. Could care a less if that something is an LGBT Pride event or a D-Day Memorial event. This isn't the forum for those things!

Actually, Star Trek has a lot of exploration of one's identity and the existential crisis of humanity. A celebration of identity is well within reason for Star Trek. This event is fine.

Sometimes, players can find other players with the same interests or who are part of a community, within STO. Trek is far from the only thing I talk about with my in-game friends.
Also, to take your logic to the full, your username is just as non-Trek. By your own logic, this isn't the place for your scotch-loving ways. Sure, Scotty loved a good scotch. But by that logic, Trek also saw a fair share of same-sex couples, and tackled gender issues of all types.
There's room for a lot more than just the pew-pew of phaser fire.

What about it is "non-Star Trek," precisely? You do realize that Star Trek has, since its very beginning, been about social justice, right? You do realize that this is the sixth annual event of this type, and thus cannot be held to be about the recent Supreme Court decision, right? I attended several of the activities in this event, and I do not recall a single comment about the recent Supreme Court decision at any of them. You do realize that the T in the acronym has nothing to do with sex or same-sex marriage, right? So you do realize that claims like this:
This entire thread is about supporting same sex unions. This is all about sex.
are patently false, right? Therefore, you do realize that you are stirring drama and grasping at any straw you can in an effort to maintain the already-dying status quo and its injustice, right?

Nope...nothing so grandiose. Is that what the Event was about? Hey look...I drew out one of the moderators. How about a T6 K'tinga!

This is how I feel as well. It is nice to be able to log on with the fleet and be with people who have additional common interests AND are into a lot of the same geekery I am. As far as I'm concerned, as long as someone is not being obnoxious in Zone (and by that I do not mean just a mere mention of a gathering), trolling, stalking players (to include chasing them from instance to instance), and generally harassing non-participants, other fleets' activities have no impact on me.

The irony, of course, being that the N*zis lumped homosexuals in the same "kill 'em all" category as Jews, Slavs, the disabled, and Roma, among others.
Oh, did Dental forget that part of history when they started claiming they were supportive of LGBTSA* communities? Hmmm.

Don't like it? Don't post in it.
