They do already, but in the right way.

They sell items you can sell to other players for ec.

This. If Cryptic sold it, then they would be dictating the exchange rate. By letting you sell things like lockbox keys, then the players and market itself determine the value, which is better.

There are plenty of ways to EARN EC in-game without the C-Store shortcut. People just need to learn patience.

a man heads down to the exchange to buy engine batteries

crippling inflation has gripped sto since the implementation of praxi5' 'zen for ec' policy was adapted one month ago. as it stands, a stack of engine batteries costs more than the f2p 10m ec bank even holds, leaving many angry, comparing praxi5 to mugabe and demanding accountability.

You can already spend Zen on items that sell for EC.

Giving X EC per Zen will just destroy the market for selling items, which is one of the ways F2P players can keep up with people who spend money. I much prefer the system we have now, where everybody wins.

Well, excepting the people who are to lazy to buy and post things on the exchange, and the people who can't understand simple concepts like supply and demand... but I have no interest in catering to the LCD.

Yeah lol, in around 3.5 years I am still just shy of 500 million. Sure I could cash in a large % of my dilithium to become a billionaire but I could also drive nails into my head.

Given the outrageous cost of some weapons, gear (consoles), items like Fleet Ship Modules, and even Lockbox ships, compared to 'average' player EC income, should Cryptic sell EC in the Store?

    How much, at what cost?

    Heck NO..EVER
