Devs: Can we expect underperforming mechanics to be fixed, or look to new content?

Should we expect 'legacy' issues (detailed below) to be given development time to be fixed/alleviated, or should we expect that these underperforming things to be supplanted by new items/gear/BOff abilities/mechanics?

For example:
  • Torpedoes requiring significantly more skill, gearing, and piloting to be brought up to parity with Energy-based ships
  • The "sliver of shields" effect, negating most torpedo damage
  • Cannons having many disadvantages compared to Beams, to the point that the innate extra damage does not offset the downsides
  • Every Engineering Captain ability being able to be replicated (to some degree) on Sci and Tac Captains via Spec/Gear/Rep/Traits, whereas Engineers can not replicate Sci or Tac abilities
  • Drain and CC (Snare) based Science builds not being as desirable as PartGen builds
  • Abilities like Aceton Beam being useless and essentially "noob bait."

So on and so forth.

This is hardly a comprehensive list of things, but I'd just like to know whether things like that will be worked on, or if we'll see them being 'fixed' in new gear releases. For example, new Rep torpedoes that have significantly higher flight speed, 'enhanced' Cannons that reduce the effects of range/damage drop off, or BOff Abilities that do the same function as Aceton Beam (or whatever else) that also have a desirable secondary function released via Lockbox.

No, they'll just be removed in the name of "raising the average quality of the game".

Everything is working as intended. If you dont feel this way, its most likely "a reporting bug".
