The new Vet ship, Preserver Resonant build

Hey,

So I had one of my characters give the new ship a spin last night. It looks something like this (that planner build is largely from memory). I've been meaning to try the Preserver Resonant set, and decided this is my chance. Anyone got any constructive feedback? I'd love to hear it.

Later on,

I'm sure your DPS is great, but as Kahless said, "a petaQ with high system mastery is still a petaQ." (Well, he should have said it...!)

I'd look at the 2 piece Breen set. Warp core and shields could fit right in, and the 2 piece bonus gives bonus to transphasic damage.

Also you might be able to drop one of the torpedoes with some projectile doffs. Of course I don't know how effective the trait is yet, and it could be fantastic with transphasics. I'd also switch out a tac team for another torpedo power, another spread or high yield can't hurt.

Personally I don't think the consoles from the vet ships are really that worthwhile so you might swap that out with something else too, maybe use the turn console and turret from the Undine set for some more disruptor damage, especially if you replace the torpedo.

I might have the Breen warp core on the character in question, I'm not sure (I may have picked one up last winter as a hey-you-never-know move). The problems there are 1) I effing hate the Breen, and 2) I've heard that core does not have AMP at Ultra-Rare, so it becomes a question of whether the Breen set bonus is worth more than AMP.

So far, Concentrate Firepower 3 has been providing a hilarious number of HYTs, so I'm not quite ready to ditch a TT for that, but I'll keep an eye on the situation, maybe a second spread isn't a terrible idea.

I've already got two torpedo doffs on her, which seem to be doing a good job reducing cool down on both launchers. One idea I'd had was that if I like this concept, but want more disruptor damage like you're thinking, try a version of it on the Mogh, so the front weapons can be 2 TPs and 3 DHCs... :D

Thanks for the food for thought. I'll have to think it over.

You can't bank too much on Concentrate Firepower to keep giving you those HYT. Once you go into a multiplayer instance like a space Battlezone, Red Alert, or queued instance, you'll see why. And it only gets worse with Concentrate Firepower I & II.

True, some opportunities do get away from you in a team setting. In my experience it was noticeable but bearable. Still, point well taken. So, doffs 5/6 become Conn Officers, and one of the TT1s becomes HYT1.

    Thanks.

There's a Breen warp core? If that's what you meant..then I need to get my hands on it ASAP!

Sorry, I digress. It certainly looks like an effective build, although I'm not a ship-building aficionado. I don't have the KHG set either, so I can't give any pointers on equipment.

The Breen Warp / Singularity Cores were rewards from the last Winter Event. Bind on Acquire. If you weren't there it's impossible to get it. Not until the next Winter Event.

I guessed that they would be, ah well..looking forward to the WW.

Just a question, is the core available on all Breen ships or is it limited to the Sarr Theln?

The Breen core actually isn't tied to a ship; it's bought with holiday ornaments and works with all ships.
