So the patchnotes for today say this:
- Added a bonus Summer Event donation task to give 40 marks for 40 Lohlunat Prize Vouchers.
- The bonus Summer Event donation task requires the Ferengi Nandi project to be completed on one character on an account.
- This project has a 20 hour cooldown.
I'm confused on this...
Does this mean that after we get the Nandi, we can buy vouchers with marks??? Urm, if we finished the project why would we need more? Aren't they warping away when the event is over? Or am I totally reading this wrong...
Can someone explain?

get the ship
run flying high get 40 pearls
turn 40 pearls into 40 marks of your choice
it works the same as mirror shard etc
Never mind, read that completely wrong. Still a bad exchange rate though.

Then it should've been
Well played, Cryptic.
It made sense to me, but I applied the awesome power of logic
or [the player] give 40 marks for [receiving] 40 prize vouchers....is how I read it the first time...in context I will admit seemed backwards which is why I was confused....glad this isn't my first event
I got it also, but it isn't proper.
It's like saying, "give 40 dollars for 40 kittens". It sounds like I pay 40 dollars to get 40 kittens.
It should be or similar to, "donating 40 kittens will provide you with 40 dollars." Or pretty much anything else that they said.
I'm actually surprised there isn't more threads about how confusing the patch notes are. They don't use the best grammer IMO.
I agree that the wording is ambiguous, but only one of the two readings makes sense. So, I read it, chose that one and continued on. Most people don't carry a wallet full of kittens
40 marks for a few minutes flying around is a bad exchange rate?
That is contextually the same thing as what it says.
Nope. Sorry.... you cannot read it that way. That reading directly contradicts the sentence subject.... because the subject is not the player. The subject is plainly stated as the bonus Summer Event donation task.
Yes it is.
Unless one gets the daily mark bonus as well for that activity. 40 marks translate to 400 Dil, with daily mark bonus this activity would grand some 950 Dil at least. Meh, would still be not worth my time.

VS
60+ Marks for a Normal PvE Queue with either a 30 minute CD or 1 hour CD
It's a pitiful exchange rate.
If it was something along the lines of 40 Marks for a lump-sum of 1000 Marks with a 20 or 24 hr CD, it'd be worth another fly around (especially per alt). That's roughly equivalent to either 1.5 or 2 full ship gear pieces (most Reps have them around 500 Marks, while others like Nukara has them at 750 Marks). Or heck, if 1000 is too generous, 500 Marks of your choice. Still enough for one ship piece (except Nukara and Romulan), or enough to slowly burn into raw Dil or Elite Marks (the former still restricted to refining 8000 a day, the latter restricted to 1 Elite Mark Conversion per day).
The cooldown does not determine the exchange rate, you don't need to spend 20 hours doing the flying high mission. You spend 2-3 minutes. So the exchange rate is 40 marks per 3 minutes or so.
You can spend the other 19 hours and 45 minutes doing STFs, if you like.
Yup, it is literally free marks..
(and now that I think about it, it makes even less sense. The amount of effort involved in opening hundreds of lockboxes for the lobi, exchanging the lobi for Vouchers, and then running dozens of rep missions to turn the vouchers into marks.... is vastly more effort than just raising birds. Or even doing some of the normal dailies. Must have been trolling. Or trying to brag about having a Nandi already.)
You don't even know that it's spelt grammar.
Yes, assuming you take this in absolute isolation of the game and compare it to how much you can do in other singular activities that you would come in and play and solely repeat in isolation of doing anything else it is a small reward in comparison. Of course I have no idea why you would isolate in such a way to come to such a conclusion realistically as it defies the reality of the situation where you can move between different tasks for rewards and as such should be comparing reward gives vs time invested in that singular activity. This gives 40 marks for doing virtually nothing in a couple minutes. The time investment is almost non-existent.
all your chars.
