Random facts you found out about STO- put some down here!

Here's a fun thread where people can post random facts they found throughout STO, including test server, the Foundry, the wiki, and even the forums. Feel free to put a fact down. Here's a few I found out:

Did you know that with the "kill target" button in the Foundry you can kill friendly/neutral NPCs?

Did you know that in the Foundry you can view all three ESD map layouts (original, refit, current)?

Did you know that in the current ESD map in the Foundry you can go to areas you can't normally go to (under C-47, the hangar bay, on windows, and many more) and if you fall down into space outside of the map in ESD (via the hangar doors) you can walk under under the drydocks (it only takes many minutes to get there, and click dismiss, but eventually you will get there!)

If you deliberately kill your self in an assimilation machine in the Khitomer Ground STF you get a Borg Sci boff as a reward...

If you fall off of the platforms and ramps at the end of "A Step Between the Stars" you get an accolade called "Leap of Faith".

Cool idea for a thread, btw :)

I don't think it works any more, I got it before, haven't tried after DR hit.

JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

That has been around since the first Borg STFs back when DS9 was the hotspot. Yes it is still active. You run through the tube get assimilated, die, get an accolade. After the STF go to Task Force Omega and hail 7 of 10 (Liberated Andorian CPT). She will then give you a "true" assimilated Borg Science officer for your troubles. :)

You need to run it on normal to get the boff.

The 'assimilated' accolade/boff works fine on advanced mode. The only thing is, you need to jump in the tube BEFORE anyone starts the sequence to blow the IMR.

If the console to blow it up has been activated, the accolade will not trigger.

I have the accolade, and went to T.F.O. but I only found a 4 of 10 (a Liberated Andorian Captain) on the U.S.S. Victory. However she doesn't have anything in her talk tree to let me claim this boff described.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

The Alhena system has an unmarked daily mission where you save a deuterium refinery from true way attackers. The mission rewards surplus deuterium, a handy ship consumable device.

    Is it customizeable?
Can the mission be started in a private queue alone?

This is the main reason I have never bothered getting it. None of my characters would ever tolerate a non-liberated borg drone on their ships.

In the sector space revamp there is a random comet flying around. If you get close enough you can scan it for rare R&D materials.

a random fact about sto huh?

the forum community is a closed loop of optimism, good intentions and bad experiences and even from all that some learn from it and it repeats on itself there after. the trouble is, that one day the infinite loop will eventually be cut and run out. when will it be? :P

Several of them, in fact. Also the occasional nebula. Not on the charts, you have to watch for the pop-up on your screen.

There are also derelict ships floating about for the same purpose.

Did you know that if you just 'pick up' all the Suliban recruitment missions BEFORE activating any of them, then you can then run all six simultaneously?

Did you know that you can find a lot of stuff to put in this thread in the "trivia" section from the wiki?

Did you know that STO was the first MMO with both (playable) space and ground combat?

When in a space mission, right-click on an enemy while you're not at Red Alert, and your ship will set itself to automatically intercept.

In beta tribbles had no pet cool down, an thus grew about 2% in size , I successfully made my tribble bigger then my character, Quarks Bar , and finally larger then ESD which eventually crashed the entire instance. Woops.

Most players in STO do not understand what the Objectives window means. Or where it's located.
