Specializations and Traits

If this has been brought up before - I apologize:


Specializations and Traits please make them "HOT Swappable" instead of Locking the option out on missions or, maybe combine them in some way.

For example - (combine: Command with Commando) and (Pilot with Intelligence) and then you can keep the current Primary and Secondary arrangement.

The way it is now, when you go on a mission of both; Space and Ground, you have to choose which type youi'll be either (Space or Ground) ahead of time and are stuck with your choice until the mission is over. If this was "Hot Swappable" you could swtich quickly to the optimal choice for the occasion.

Then this could all be tied into the "Ship Load Out" vs. "Personal Load Out" when beaming down!

    Thats because of the way the servers are designed, they need that information to calculate other skills and buffs, forcing it to recheck every persons spec tree then recalculate everything again from scratch is going to end up adding more lag than the command ships did :P

    There is a reason they aren't hot swappable

    I think it's also worth pointing out here that you used to have to choose between two "powers" in the old rep system, whereas now you get access to all the traits and can swap them in and out very easily... They came a long way already on that one.

    Hopefully they'll be able to tie them in with the separation of the ground and space traits.

    They should not be "hot swappable." They should have separate ground and space settings so we wouldn't have to swap them at all.

    And yes, the issue has been brought up before. Supposedly traits at least are meant to get separate choices eventually, but since some species don't have 9 ground and 9 space traits by default, they have to make more traits first so people wouldn't be "forced" to buy lockbox traits to fill their slots.
