Gear upgrade problem

Hi, I decided to upgrade some of my gears, but it seems that the stats doesn't grow up, making the upgrade totally useless...I am missing something or what? :/

Example:
I want to upgrade my elite fleet shield, and this is the difference from MK XII and MK XIII: no difference at all.

Does the upgrade seems have the only goal of trying to upgrade the quality?

While trying to upgrade other stuffs, I get a insignificant difference between MK XI and MKXII (my Jem'Harad Engine only gain 0.5 of speed, and other stats remain the same...)

    Some items are buggy and don't upgrade correctly (like your shield). As for your items only improving slightly, some items only improve by small amounts at all, while some things (mostly weapons) improve significantly, especially at Mk13 and Mk14. Whenever upgrading anything, be sure to look in the Result box first which tells you what you will get ahead of time. That way you don't have to spend anything to know what you would be getting, and can save the cost if you don't think its worth it.
