Constitution is the ONLY ship you do not see in the movies after its destruction in the timeline by "The Renegade" Kruge. There are Nebulas, Excellsiors, etc etc. Even Mirandas and D7 Battlecruisers were destroyed in DS9 by the dozens in various front line battles. A 40 year old BOP destroys the Enterprise D!
So allowing endgame Constitution would violate the timeline fairly seriously. Of course they do have a bunch of 100 year old ships as t5 endgame like the Tvaro and Andorian escort....
ran a t1 mixed parts ship to level 44, but i have since given up on it. the only thing that keeps it in the fight are its shields, once they are gone the t1 ship will go down in 1 hit pretty much, for ex a standard quantum torpedo hit is enough or a hy photon.
i had intended to fly her to level 60, but i knew it would be insane before i even started that quest. since before the delta recruit event i have not played that toon since.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
That is pretty much what I have been doing, shield tanking.
That is why I geared my traits toward hull HP and resistance, as well as traits to buff that weakness.
There is the occasional lucky one hit crit that blows her up. You just can not avoid that.
Also in some missions where I am outnumbered I rely on a mix between kiting and help from NPCs to spread out the incoming fire and not be overwhelmed.
Against the harder enemies my hull usually goes down to a point where I can call in fleet reinforcement and that Typhoon speeds things up a bit.
It is worth mentioning that I rolled an engineer for this because I knew from the beginning that miracle worker would be a key ability to pull this off.
But I have been since surprised that I got her as far as I did. There were some phases where the gear, rep and traits fell behind my level progression and it got noticably harder.
Piloting skill is important, too to make sure to avoid some of the harder kinetic impacts by mines, heavy torps, etc.
Some enemies dealing plasma damage directly to the hull or use transphasics can be tricky, but are managable. Borg were the worst so far.
Just to note.. the Kobali starship set is from Dust to Dust, which is *not* part of the ground mission sequence, but is instead part of the normal storyline episode progression.
I know, I am not up to that part yet. Dust to Dust is a level 60 mission if I remember correctly. Just 58 so far.
When I get home I will probably finish the rest of the Kobali Prime ground campaign which will get me hopefully somewhere near 59 and then it should be relatively smooth sailing all the way to the end.
Kinda dreading the big fleet engagements with the Vaadwaur as the last big challenge before I get to Dust to Dust.
That is prett

r.
Curious. I've always had an easier time with science captains. I've run a few to 50 in t1 ships, which is why I decided to take one farther.
What I found was that the scattering field and reverse shields were comparable, but photonic fleet outperformed miracle worker for combat. This was because it both deals damage and takes aggro away. Thanks to the damage it can turn around a losing fight. But I will say, miracle worker is dang helpful in a t1 ship. Miracle is better survival, photonic is better victory.
They are close enough in performance I suspect the difference comes down to player style rather than mechanics.

That works, too, I guess.
I suspect the only class who is spectacularly ill suited for the connie would be the tactical captain, because, while he can enhance the outgoing damage a bit he has zero survival skills and there is not that much damage to enhance to end the fight quickly enough.
He would rely on hit and run tactics which either take forever or could make it impossible because the foe heals up too fast..

My first try in a t'liss was a tactical. The attack alpha, fire on my mark, high yield 1, decloak fire plasma ball of doom strategy worked great up to about level 30. Then it got really painful really fast.

I ask you the , what class ships are we seeing in ST's 4(at the end), 5, and 6? Like the other poset said, there is what appears to be the secondary hull of a Connie' in the debris of Wolf 359. Not that I am for a T6 Connie'.
