Essentially before I'd need to be point of contact to and for almost everything. This had amazing quality control, but with one person, I'm having to Branflakes. The problem is I don't work exclusively on STO.
In this operation, we could get major events up and running faster with official support by community members doing what they already want to do with setting up initiatives. Except now they'd be able to easily give out prizes, have blogs made for them, etc.
If this is successful, I'm sure it'll expand at some point.
That is a close summary. Although I already have some people, I'm just trying to get the engine started up with the new process.
Essentially there are a bunch of community projects. Countless ones. As good and efficient as I can be in cutting down time on some (such as publishing) there are still so many different initiatives out there. I simply don't have enough daylight to cover them all.
Key part of that is 'I dont'.
So what if I look at it a different way? With more or less experience in the process models (though still getting used to the frankly antiquated backend process for unspotlighting and respotlighting a foundry mission) for most initiatives, I can put that experience to an advisory and product management role. The community can spend more time getting essentially 'official clearance' to do events and initiatives (official inferring the subsequent oversight plus logistics that I can offer working at PWE and promotional ability) and it doesn't have to be bottlenecked as much or ROI'ed to death. I wish in the previous situation I could work on screenshot contests or writing prompts, but now there's potential if people do want it.
This is the second head of Project Cerberus.
Are you looking for community volunteers or is this internal to PWE?

Primary authorization comes from me and two others at PWE, though they are more assitance. Secondary authorization comes from a trusted set of vetted volunteers in this realm we've had for some time. Tertiaries are what you're referring to which are players.
There is some speculation going on in Ten Forward regarding the Literary Challenges (there's a thread there). I am wondering if this is relevant to the future or lack thereof of the LC's?

could you get more staff to help you with that? i can see a lot of potential in what you have planned there.
im also curious as to the events you could have planned, but my original question is what you plan for the community so, thanks for the detailed answer and i will leave it at the original question. let the players wonder a bit more :P.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
This'll never work. There's nowhere near enough mention of cake. Or pie. Or cookies. Or caffeine.
BRB, getting cake, pie, cookies, and caffeine. Not necessarily in said order.
order an extension to the cryptic facility to include a fast food joint, 24 hour service, free grub. it will work then :P. it will improve motivation to complete tasks faster at the thought of such delightful grub during the morning, afternoon and evening shifts.

But I'm pretty bloody hopeful!
