Was thinking of getting this and bringing it up to T5-U. What's the general consensus on this vessel? How have you set it up and what's your opinion of its capabilities?
with the all hands on deck trait and availability of grav well in a klingon ship its a crowd control machine.
mine is running 3 dhc and gravtorp fore and 2 omni beam and 2 turrets aft. With all hands on deck trait, photonic fleet and other science abilities cool down extremely fast while spamming scatter volly attack pat ,tac team and target ability. combined with a nice purple doff lineup.
i pick it over the dyson destroyer any day.
for my sci toon in pve it just works really well. after grav well was nerfed some time ago and all the new powers they put in game he had fallen behind in use and killing power. till i put him in that ship.
but my tac and engineer toons have better options though.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.
I bought one for grinding No Win Scenario on my tac Klingon, and used it in PVP sometimes for the challenge. It was outclassed even then, only reason I bought it was because of the chance to run 2x BFaW and GW1 for NWS, but the turn rate is awful and the seating does not make up for it. Every other battlecruiser was better, no doubt the new ones are even moreso. Now it sits as a storage ship in dry dock. Expensive lesson in cryptic's powercreep for $$ business model. I wish I'd never bought it.
I have the Fleet Kamarag for my KDF Sci toon. I like it. I Upgraded it for the extra console slot and I am in the process of kitting it out all up Undine Rep. I like cruisers anyways and this one is fun to play PvE with. Never used it in PvP so I cannot speak on that part of the game.
Best piece of STO advice I ever got was this: If you like the ship, get it. If it is fun to play with, use it. If you don't like the ship after you get it, then you found out about it and you can avoid purchasing similar ships in the future.
FT-5U Kamarag does fine for what I use it for. Although I have raised more than a few eyebrows when I PUG STF with it. Those usually go away right after I grav well and then torp the Nanite Sphere or Probe groupings out of existence just in front of their spawn point. Besides, absolutely anyone can play STO well in a Scimitard or T6 GodShip. :P
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Its a good ship and if you already have it then just an upgrade token hey why not? However there's also the Klinzhai Sci-variant Command cruiser to consider as well if you're looking at a full $25 expenditure. They both would give you a cruiser with a LtCmdr sci to play with, but the Klinzhai would also give you a light hangar, a Lt universal, a trait (if not a great one), and Command powers. On the other hand the Kamarag turns better and has the Weapon System Efficiency comm setting, so less flexible but a better gunship. Guess it depends on your build idea.
It's a great, very maneuverable, allrounder IMHO.
In STFs it can tank well yet and at the same time throw down a GW when needed and still have some heals on standby in the Lt Uni slot.
Or it can throw down fire support when you load the uni slot with tactical skills.
And when you're on your own you can mix those two setups to your liking and just stop NPCs in their tracks and bombard them with torpedo spread after spread until they wave the white flag...and then you bombard them some more.:D
4 FSMs and a Upgrade Token if you want to take the Fleet Kamgarag to Fleet T5U level.
I don't care what ship it is, but it is an expensive asking price for a T5 level ship that is only a single character purchase. But then again, so many KDF T5 ships are boobytrapped like this.
Mostly ships get bought for the art they represent but as far as game mechanics go they are never used because they usually are just gimmicks. Which therefor causes rage and distrust between customers and business. Now if they put the art with solid features in the game that are enjoyable and represent the franchise at the same time they would have happier players. Anyways thats my take on it because I love the look of it but then again I haven't used mine in years.
Ya, thanks for the views. I bought the FM's and token around Christmas but havent bought the fleet version yet as I hate to use it on my TAC because I don't have a SCI toon. The T5 is a blast to fly on both my tac and engies tho.
I used to bring my fleet one on my main sci into pvp once in awhile it made a lot of people get annoyed. Reason being its got some high end science and easily setup with aux2bat. So you can just ball up your enemies and throw lots of sciencey stuff and tactical spam.
It is a good ship or atleast it was but many ships even KDF were the meta at one time but now its just these new vanilla ship lol.

Economically speaking the T6 Sci Command Cruiser makes more sense, as someone who also owns the KDF command 3pk.
But of all those mentioned, Kamarang has my favorite look, Vor'Cha my favorite performance.
Never quite liked the performance of the Mogh, the Mat'ha is everything I wish the Mogh was.
* I actually haven't even logged in since then.
Awoken Dead
Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
A good Klingon ship ?

Well, one's a raptor one's a cruiser. Btw, agree with your sig, if you've got a T6 Command Voquv thread going link me, I support that!
Romulan D7's as well, nearly took one at T3 for my Romulan just for kix.
