This is welcome news, I rolled three romulan Delta Recruits (just getting back in the game now, last time i played you killed romulans, not played them :P ), one Fed, one KDF, an one not yet decided (one of each class) and I was eyeballing T6 Fleet ship with a 4 fleet module cost (2000 zen) but given that i have two Rom toons I will buy the Non-fleet version (for 3000 zen) and buy the one fleet module for EC (more manageable than four). Seems that going that route is a good idea.
Heck I have a couple of mid level toons I may level up now given that I have a couple of t5u sips i upgraded (namely the Excelsior and Galaxy-x).
Also don't forget some T6 ships are Fleet level to begin with (the Command and Pilot ships), so there may be no need to get a Fleet Module, depending on what you were eyeing.

I have not made up my mind yet, not sure about the merits of some of the high end ships (i think that is a different topic for a different thread, I was eyeballing the intel warbird)
I did notice that there is not a "fleet" version of the pilot and command ships. Also did not see the major difference in the fleet versions of the t5u ships that I have.
So, one last question: if I buy a ship from one of the in-game shipyards instead of the Z-Store, does the previously-mentioned sequence of ship upgrades and discounts still apply? I've got a stack of Fleet Ship Modules and upgrades to use, and I paid for those with Zen, so I would expect the shipyards to be equivalent to the Z-Store, especially since you've got to pick up Z-Store purchases at a shipyard anyway...

I made no mention of any ship's cost, merely the point of purchase. In the Fleet shipyards, there are ships available through either Zen, dilithium, or FC + FSM purchase...
