In Tribble during LoR beta I once attempted to 2-man it with a pair of level 25-ish Romulan Science officers. We got half way through but ended up in a spot where we just couldn't kill the Klingons faster than they spawned. And that was with 2 low level characters on tribble with crappy gear. I imagine that a team of 2 level 60 characters could do it.

Heh, I was in one corner just constantly killing Klingons. Level 60, mkXIV gear, top of the line... and eventually I died as I ran out of redshirts, buffs, heals and all that because there were a few respawn spots close by... I'd kill one group and another would respawn. Even on my knees healing constantly, I eventually was overwhelmed. I got about 2k xp in that one spot, actually 2,830... lmao...

I would like to play those 20 men events, but the rewards are kinda crappy compared how long they take and how difficult they are. :)

History lesson for the ones that haven't been around as long as Senatorvreenak and I...

once upon a time, if you wanted the KHG/MACO or Omega outfit for your character, you actually had to play all of the STF missions.

To get the ground set, you had to run all the ground missions. To get the space set, you had to run all the space missions. All of them.

You couldn't just sit there on repeat doing Infected Space Elite (it was called that back then) and get everything.

Then, came upon us the "Reputation" system-and all the things you had to run six missions to get (sometimes multiple times...often multiple times), you could get by sitting there, recycling through Infected Space.

Over and over and over and over and over again.

The "Locust" gameplay that an earlier post refers to, is a direct outcome of the way Cryptic chose to create, and implement, the Reputation slider-bar system. They designed a system that rewards repetitive selection of one mission based on time/reward button-pushing. There are people here, who've played since Season Eight, and well regarded-who've never done a single ground queue, and whose 'space' queue history can be demonstrably traced to playing one or two short missions in each 'theme, over-and-over-and-over again-anywhere from 1/3 of what was released, to 1/6th.

Because of how the system is structured, then, the 20 man queues are generally going to be dead-on-arrival after the first week or so.

The crowd will gravitate to the shortest, highest-paying proportional mission. This is why it's nearly impossible to get a "Starbase Incursion" run of five players (Colony invasion pays more and is easier, thus shorter, thus...)
you still needed the accolades for the costume unlocks though.

Some of us actually liked KAGE and played it just because space combat is boring. Actually, I still like it.

When Mine Trap first started it was during (the terribly missed) scheduled events. They need to come back :(

Agreed. Scheduled events such as this event coming back once a month from thursday to tuesday, double xp awarded... oh yeah

Mine Trap was one of the most fun queues in the game. I hope it gets a revamp rather than being removed.

The only thing I truly despised from the old, Pre-Reputation System was that the token to get the gear was not a guarantee that match. Not only that, there would be only 1 to go out among the team.

    **** that.

I would love to see mind trap be made a 5 man map. I don't know what it would take but I think it would be a good idea to take all the 20 man maps that split the group up in to four teams and make them 5 man maps.

There is a Mind Trap channel, but it only has something like 17 members, and I think the most I have seen on at once is 4. If more people got together on it we could run private 5 man.

Why doesn't everyone who reads this thread, especially those you've never had the chance to play the join, join the queue for Mine Trap...with any luck, we'll be able to bring it back from the dead ;)

I really enjoyed Mine Trap... i remember when it used to pop all the time. It was a great place to earn romulan marks with the hourly mark bonus. Sadly that's gone and this mission will probably be gone soon as well. :(
