Spoilers
Supergirl ain't the only DC property giving us a first look. CW's upcoming
DC's Legends of Tomorrow now shows us what its all about.
Personal thoughts:
1. Rory!...er, Arthur Darvill is once again a time traveler, this time playing Rip Hunter. Thumbs up. (any chance of a Roman centurion outfit at some point?)
2. Smart move bringing Sarah Lance back, this time as White Canary.
3. I totally guessed the major villain weeks ago: Vandal Savage. This can be a very strong character.
4. Atom will finally be THE Atom (and not an Iron Man wannabee.) Thumbs up. Less thrilling, Ray Palmer appears to still be the clown of the show. Humorous is fine, but I'd like to see the character a bit more grounded.
5. Needs to happen: Firestorm needs to learn that they can manipulate matter. Right now, they're just a flamethrower that flies, and we've already got Heatwave on the team.
6. Supervillains are a nice touch. If this wasn't so upbeat, it would start to look like a Suicide Squad.
Final thought: I'll give it time to get its sea legs. I do see it as DC's riskiest venture on TV at the moment, however. But then, most thought
Gotham would be a loser, and it turned into a hit.
Comments
Yeah, that character isn't funny, but the concept makes me smile whenever I think of it.
ENh, it's was a short lived alternate character idea, but cool.
In case people want a summary.....
Lady Shiva decided to try being a superhero to prove she was better than Black Canary at that too. hehehe.... so she dressed up in a green version of Black Canary's outfit. It's a bit boring actually. But not bad.

If Fox cancels Gotham, it's a hit. If they renew it, it's a failure.
-Leonard Nimoy, RIP
You are very correct. I thought that I'd gone back and edited that in, but I guess I forgot to hit "post" or something.
I do wonder, however, if this will be Thanagarian Hawkgirl. I have heard that this Hawkgirl is claiming reincarnation, and to have lived several past lives. It has been a long time since I reviewed the concepts behind Hawkgirl & Hawkman, but didn't they go through heavy retconns multiple times? As a result there were two origins: one from space, one from ancient Egypt? If I'm reasonably accurate, this sounds like they're going with the ancient Egypt storyline.
Please tell me DC is not putting out a different Canary for every color of the spectrum like they did with power rings. :P
Well played.
Thus she took the name Jade Canary and spent a few weeks as a crime fighter in Gotham.
I don't remember if Batman commented on this, but I can imagine what he'd think about it.

Yeah, Hawkman and Hawkgirl have the most convoluted history in comics compared to any other character. There was a period in the '90s where DC didn't even want to touch them because no one could make sense of their background. I think--I'm not certain--that they finally settled on the DCAU's approach of having them as ancient Thanagarians that landed in Egypt and have been reincarnated ever since.

You missed an episode.

Really? Because it didn't seem very ambiguous to me at the end. Hell, even Jon had an ancient Egyptian counterpart.

I suppose that's a fair argument. That doesn't explain how Carter Hall got his own pair of wings, though. It seemed pretty cut and dry as a merging of the conflicting back stories to me, anyway.

I recall nothing from the two episodes that stated he made them, and I watched that series relatively recently.
My character Tsin'xing
It's not even implied. One moment he's in civvies and the next he's in his Hawkman outfit, wings and all, and they never even mention that elephant in the room.
