Has anyone else seen it? It is very similar to the Sovereign class in terms of appearance, but it isn't quite the same. Do we think that it is just some promo art that got slapped together, or is it an Easter egg hinting at something to come? (Or is there something coming I missed somehow...)

I think it's a hint to a T6 sovereign release in the near future, most likely a Pilot/cruiser(?!?).
Obviously they have updated the ships model.

Nope, don't use ARC...and didn't see anything looking around the ARC website.

Last I saw of the Sovereign was the Pilot Bridge Officer blog...

That's what the sovereign class is supposed to look like.

Yeah. Pretty sure that's just the Sovereign at a different angle and with better lighting. If it was a variant of the Sovereign, Cryptic usually gives some pretty noticable differences in its design. If there are any major differences, I simply have not noticed them.

Their major reveals are given in dev blogs. Given just how draconian their disclosure policies are, I think you're giving them too much credit for slipping in an easter egg like a ship reveal in something like that.

Neither have I...but for all we know cryptic's added a massive gun turret to the top of the saucer section. :P

Emote turret. It fires 5,000 winking smileys per second.

Seeing that full picture, it looks much more like the Sovereign than I first thought. What's throwing me is the underside of the nacelles and the shape of the pylons. To me, they seem quite a bit different from the model sitting on my desk.

Hehe, just had to say that, right? Because a T6 Sov. would be a "Shut up and take my money!" scenario...so it could very well take years.

I'm still waiting for the variant with the sensor pod in-between the nacelles. The concept art has been around since launch, but that mission pod is still missing in action.

Yeah, the NX-91001 has kind of disappeared into obscurity. I'm not even sure if Cryptic remembers that ship.

Could it be possible that Cryptic would take the version of the Sovereign that it would of looked like Post Nemesis? Maybe thats why?

Tbh i never noticed any big differences between the First contact/Insurrection/Nemesis Sovereign classes.
Sure if you look at the hundreds torpedo launchers the Nemesis version got all over the hull (only noticeable when they shoot), you can say the ships differ considerable.
But design wise i can't see any big differences tbh.

First Contact wasn't the film that made me love that ship it was Insurrection. Watching that big ol' cruiser zip about the Briar Patch gave me chills. Only bad thing was that for me the Son'a Battlecruisers outshined it. Love those designs.

It is not that the Son'a ship was better. The issue was Riker. Every time he was in charge of an Enterprise it just sucked in combat. Need some Ferengi in junkyard B'rel to capture the D while Picard is a child, put Riker in charge. Need some Tamarians to beat the tar out of the D while Picard is trapped on the planet, put Riker in charge. Need some Klingons to destroy the D, put Riker in charge.

I have no idea how the Titan survived its first encounter when Riker became its Captain. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I think he meant that the Son'a ships easily overtook it in speed in the Briar Patch, which is on surprise as Admiral Dougherty himself pointed out that the Enterprise was not properly equipped for travel there(could make for a good engine or console boosting speed when full impulse is off-line or other combat related hazards such as warp plasma).

As for combat against the Son'a, they were using subspace weapons, more powerful, but also more unpredictable. I will also point out that Riker's judicious use of metrion gas obliterated one Son'a Battleship and severly damaged another.
