Xindi Plasmatic Bio-Matter Torpedo

Anyone got a video of this in action, yet? The fact that it works like a plasma-version of the Crystalline Torpedo, as far as Tactical consoles are concerned, piqued my interest, but I'm one of those weirdos where aesthetics are just as important as function, so I wanted to see what it actually looked like before I considered dropping money on it.

    I was wondering this too.

I'll nip onto tribble and see if i can get some screenshots

There's Plasma in this game?! :P

Seriously, who still uses Plasma these days, I wonder!? If I need something 'green-looking' (always color-coordinating), I'll use Disruptors.

I thought that Plasma/Romulan Plasma and the Embassy Plasma enhancing consoles were a popular choice for high DPS.

I thought that Plasma/Romulan Plasma and the Embassy Plasma enhancing consoles were a popular choice for high DPS.

They are, as well as some PvP builds use it for flavor/annoyance, despite upper level players slotting HE.

The new Plasma Energy "torpedo" gets the same treatment as the AP-SB (Spirit Bomb. I didn't name it, but it caught on).

I'm wondering if this will continue as a trend; trying to get people to slot "a torp that is not a torp". (Thanks, Snipey47a).

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

Ironically, I was considering making a joke in my original post about how I was one of those weirdos who still uses Plasma as well, but I decided to make my question a bit more straight-foreword. :P

Personally, I prefer the sound of plasma weapons to that of disruptors. To me, disruptors sound kind of anemic in this game. Meanwhile, I love the thud! of Dual Heavy Plasma Cannons going off and the twang of Plasma Turrets. To get that lovely shade of green that disruptors do have going for them, I just use Romulan Plasma weapons, to literally get the best of both words.

That's part of the reason why I was asking about the Plasmatic Bio-Matter Torpedo. I wanted to see what shade of green it was. Currently, I use the Enhanced Biomolecular Torpedo from the Undine rep to get a torpedo that's also a nice shade of green, without the various drawbacks of using actual plasma torpedoes.

    Speaking of which....

Thanks for the screencaps, latias. The shading doesn't look too bad, but now I'm wondering about the functionality as well. How slowly do the actual projectiles move? The information about the torpedo makes it sounds like it works similar to how the Romulan Hyper Plasma Torpedo does. I actually used to use the Romulan HPT, until I realized that, with how slowly it fires, most of the torpedoes end up floating around in space after a mission, rather than having hit their targets. Is this a concern with the Plasmatic Bio-Matter Torpedo as well?

It occurs to me that, I suppose if I really want to see the Plasmatic Bio-Matter Torpedo in action, I could possibly plunk the money down on some Master Keys to get the Lobi, and do as latias apparently did and purchase it on Tribble to see for myself. And if I end up not liking it, either use the Lobi for something else, or only open the boxes on Tribble as well, and sell the Master Keys back instead.

I guess I just assumed somebody out there somewhere already had gotten their hands on it and maybe even thrown up a video somewhere for it, but I guess I'm one of the few people out there that actually has any sort of interest in it. :o

If you already have some lobi, you can just transfer the same character to tribble like 20 times (then combine the lobi in the account bank)!

From what i could tell though, it doesn't move any differently to regular plasma torps

Thanks for the tip, but when I attempted to do this a little awhile ago, it kept saying that the account bank was unavailable at this time whenever I was on Tribble...?

At any rate, thanks again for checking it out for me, but it's starting to look like if I really want to see how exactly it looks and works, I just need to bite the bullet and find out for myself, potentially the hard way.

That torpedo with hy hits like a truck. I could easily get 100k aoe non crit against borg in kerrat, but the torpedo is really slow, similiar to the hyper plasma torpedo of the romulan rep.
That torpedo got a cd of 12 secs and it's only one. It can be easily shot down by aoe skills and warp core breaches.

You can compare it to tricobalt without shield penalty.
It's pretty much pointless against enemies like tholians or voth which got a lot of aoe.

You might try the Gravity Well/Elachi Emo Field Generator combo. It lets me use the Destabilized Plasma Torpedo against Voth and Tholians with some regularity. Might work for a torp spread of the plasmatic bio-matter torp.
