My headcanon is that the Command Battlecruisers are refits of the Typhoon, as the Thunderchild is to the Akira or the Regent is to the Sovereign. Except the Typhoon gets three refits.

The Command Battle cruisers resemble the Typhoon as much as the Typhoon resembles the Sovereign, they share the basic design elements from any Federation starship but that can be said for almost any Federation ship, I'm just having a hard time accepting the loss of the Typhoon, it was a Beautifully designed ship that truly expressed what a Federation battleship would be in my opinion, Ironic that something that was thrown together quickly from a mish mash or other Ship parts turned out to be better than some of Cryptic's more modern designs the Typhoon was certainly a diamond in the rough.
Some people say that the Typhoon was a Kit bash and that might be true but "Kit bash" is a word with quite negative connotations to describe something that isn't by any means bad. The Constellation was a "kit bash" of the Constitution and the Nebula was a "kit bash" of the Galaxy but that doesn't make them any less pleasing aesthetically or any less memorable, Incorporating design elements from different ships isn't always lazy or unoriginal, in fact it often creates a pleasing design, we all cling to what's familiar, which is why the Nebula and Constellation classes are liked so much, they clearly resemble existing starship designs meaning that they share the same appeals as the original ships.
(This rant isn't directed at you I was merely expressing my honest opinions, I think that the Typhoon is unfairly judged)
The Typhoon was awful and deserves to be forgotten.
I mean, it's perfectly okay to like the Typhoon. But in the same way people like Nickelback or Miley Cyrus - you keep it to yourself because you should realize it's objectively TRIBBLE whether or not you actually like it.

And what reasoning do you have behind that opinion? Why is exactly the Typhoon "TRIBBLE", Care to enlighten me? or are you just another arrogant forumite who interprets your own opinion for fact above everyone else?
And I certainly don't intend to "keep it to myself" If you have the right to express your biased opinion I certainly have the right to express mine.

Well it's terribly low-poly, has some of the worst proportions of any traditional cruiser, sports those terrible pylons with the holes in them, has awful nacelles, ridiculously featureless secondary hull, saucer section has boring featureless "cake" on top, and it smells funny (probably).
It's worth pointing out, though, that pretty much all of these problems could be fixed with a pass on the model and some TLC from the ship artists. The Command Cruisers are basically revamped Typhoons, barring the unusual pylon placement ala Fuzzyprise. I'm legitimately surprised the Command cruiser weren't welcomed by Typhoon enthusiasts given everything good about the Typhoon is present on them.

I'm an anonymous internet individual using hyperbole and outlandish statements to amuse readers and get responses just like this from whoever I'm directly replying to, staying just shy of trolling by not prolonging any antagonistic behavior and staying away from any actually harmful name-calling or bashing. Just look at you - you presumed to call me arrogant after the worst thing I said about you was you listen to Nickelback. You know what I'm gonna do next? Post this, containing an actual thoughtful response to your initial inquiry, and then leave it alone unless you choose to continue a civil discussion.

Well naturally if the Typhoon was going to become playable it would be remade the same as the Scimitar was that was what we were hoping for.

I'm just an uncivilised child who has no intention of having a thoughtful debate, I want my ship and I want it now, cry, cry ect...
The chance for a reasonable civilized discussion never existed because it started with you saying "I hate this and what I think it fact, anyone who thinks otherwise should silence themselves"
You? talking about reasonable civilized discussion?
You can say I'm over reacting and you're probably right, and for your information I don't listen to Nickelback although I do like Miley Cyrus, I think she's talented and successful but that's a discussion for another time.
I would be fine with supplying the mirror terrans with the whole line-up of old launch ships, from Cryptic's Miranda variant, the excalibur (or what it's called) cruiser, Oslo, DSSV, Star Cruiser up to the Typhoon and remove those models entirely from "prime" Starfleet (not take it away from players, fo course, but take away every single NPC and replace prime Starfleet NPCs entirely with "Type 6" hull material refits, plus some classic canon vessesl like a Galaxy, Nebula, Intrepid, Defiant etc. alongside the refits). Then, Mirror terrans had a unique look and would allow for a look on STOs past for newer players.
If the Typhoon then turns out playable as a T5 (or maybe first T6) mirror lockbox ship is up to debate, wouldn't bother me.

I'm just going to quote my own post from another thread in GD:
The Concorde and Typhoon are apples and oranges.
The Concorde is a new shiny that looks like an Excelsior turned into a fat,
cheetos eating basement dweller in need of some Jenny Craig.
The Typhoon is part of Starfleet's line of Klingon War-era martial starships with a brutal, armored look. It isn't supposed to be pretty. And it only looks unfinished and crude because it's a NPC ship. If made playable, the basic design could pull it off, much like the Majestic, Monarch, and Magellan (and a handful of others) manage to do.
And for the record, I like the Concord and Geneva as much as I like the buff, brutal looking Typhoon. Which is A LOT. Despite the two newer vessels looking like fat polished turds. Everybody has what they like. And this game has room for all kinds of tastes.
Agreed. Its already been stated they are being phased out over the ugly command cruisers. Sad but true. Now lets move on to greener better pastures that wont be phased out... T6 Defiant and T6 Prometheus
The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.
