Saw it as well. On my Fed using the Avenger and KDF using the K'Tinga.

Ah, this bug. I've seen it too, but I've been holding off on reporting it, because I haven't found a way to consistently reproduce it. I suspect that they broke the Federation warp-in and warp-out animations when they tried to fix the bug for the KDF.
    • Resolved an issue in which Klingons would sometimes play the Romulan Warp-In and Warp-Out FX in space instead of the Klingon FX.
    • Klingon-allied Romulans will now correctly play the Romulan Beam-In and Beam-Out FX instead of the Klingon FX.

Brand new player in my brand new, default, Miranda-class ship, and the green warp trails annoy the heck out of me. This is an immediate "This game can't even get this tiny detail right, how can I expect anything else in this game to have any accuracy with Star Trek lore?"

If it's a bug, find it, squash it. If it's NOT a bug... then why the hell am I playing?

I was wondering that myself. Guess you can throw that one in the humongous pile'o'broken stuff as well.

Too often I've seen my starfleet ship warp out with green trails too. No special engine or cores, not Fed-Rom, nothing but regular starfleet issue ship with starfleet gear with a human or ferengi captain. Nothing about my ship is anything but starfleet issue and it still warps out green.

I use the Dominion set on my Temporal Destroyer.

I think it's far more likely linked to species.

Roms also have green trails when flying lower tier Fed ships. Faction is a subset of species in the game.

My guess would be everyone having this issue is a Fed Alien?

Nope, my Fed Delta Recruit Caitian has this happen on her Vesta.

Is everyone who is having this issue a Delta Recruit?

(I don't really mind it because in my headcanon that particular character's ship is a testbed for experimental technology, so some weirdness goes with the territory. Still, it's a bug.)

It's not delta recruits, my Betazoid with her brand new T6 Excel has this issue, as do my Human with her FPER and my Trill with her Scryer, all of which are at least a couple of years old.

I notice this across my four FED toons... one is a DeltaAlt. They are Human, Liberated Borg, Joined Trill, and Bajoran.

And, no, none of them are using any engines that change the warp trail color.

On my ships, it appears to be the combination of the colors chosen for the normal ship display, combined with the species ship set. For example, I have a T6 Veteran Heavy Destroyer with a Nukara ship set; the yellow from the Nukara set + the (Federation) blue I chose = green. On my Rom/Fed ships, I choose the green color for the ship display, so this is what I normally see. If I remember correctly, I also get a green ion trail with the Breen set on another T6 VHD, with the standard Fed blue selection.

Personally, I like the fact that this allows more variation in visuals; the thing that rankles me is that most T6 ships cannot be renamed to player specification... :s

I saw this on my Caitian Sci Capt's Oberth and Rhode Island. As well as my Alien Sci Capt's Fleet Olympic T5-U.

It's not specific to the captain race. I have 2 Federations Human Captains, one is a Delta Recruit, the other has been around for years.. both see this issue. It doesn't happen all the time like it used to, but sometimes it just randomly gives me Green Warp Out trails on both my Captains. My Main is in a Presidio and my DR is in a Fleet Eclipse.

At this point, it's just one of the little annoyances that I have learned to accept and move on.

I've had this issue off-and-on with multiple Fed ships (never really see them with KDF), and it's sometimes green, sometimes blue. Doesn't matter if it's a ship with a "set" or not either.

    It is annoying though...

Flying a Varanus with a Klingon science captain, the Jem'haddar engine, I have red and blue warp out trails. I suppose these are for Fed ships. The whole thing is borked as far as I see.

Why do we have different colors of warp trails? Are there different kind of warp? Is it a gimmick? Prepare to warp out. One moment, Sir, have to set the right colors for our warp trail. Ready. Engage.

Yeah my Starfleet ships also have green warp trails at random intervals instead of blue.

As for my Fed-Rom she varies with a funny mix of blue, or green, tapping her invisible combadge or her arm in random combinations.

This has been happening to me ever since I equipped the Undine engine a while ago. Never happened before then. It must have broke something.
