From what I last got from communications, this change should have gone in just moments ago. It should be affecting mission rewards, queue rewards, dilithium mining at a 50% bonus.
Surprisingly quick fix. Thank you for your efforts, also for editing the next week rewards in time so there won't be misunderstandings.
Yay, bonus to fleet marks that nobody can get rid of because cryptic wont put a fleet project that only takes marks AND GIVES FULL CREDIT.
Get off your asses cryptic and let people get rid of their marks without getting ripped off.
You may wish to review the blog post more closely before getting wound up about this.
Unlocking the initial reward will cause the Mark bonus week the following week to grant 50% more Marks earned to everyone, not just Delta Recruits. Hitting the second benchmark improves this to 100% more Marks, and hitting the third and final benchmark increases this to 150% more Marks for everyone for the entire week!
I don't see anything in there about this only affecting Fleet Marks. Sounds like it boosts all rep marks. I'm quite pleased by this.

Yeah, I really don't understand why that project for Tier 5 fleets gives half the reward value, I mean it's not like you can convert fleet credits into Dilithium or Zen so why the cut?
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
Probably "the end" of "weekly Goals" ... since you always need the following week for those ...
With 2 weeks left there should be at least another of those. In fact there would be no reason not to have 2 more, as the reward is the same for everyone, delta or no.
It's all about timing. What we are working on now is for the last full week of the event.
Starting today is the first of those last 2 weeks. Next Thursday after maintenance we will be in the last week of the event. And since it will be over after next weeks bonus ends, there is no need to run another event because by the time it would happen, the event is over.
Hence why this is the last week we have to fill the tiers to get a bonus.
It is kinda confusing at first glance, but it *IS* correct.
Pre-edit...
I got ninja'd on this by someone who explained it better, with fewer words and faster than I did. But I went through the effort so I'm posting anyway. :P
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
Last week you advertised an increase to EC gains. You failed to mention this only applied to Doffing missions and a lot of people became angry.
The reward for this week. REally, you think no one would notice?
PER YOUR OWN NEWS FEED As the meter hits certain benchmarks, this will unlock progressively better rewards for the following week. Unlocking the initial reward will cause a dilithium bonus week the following week to grant 50% more dilithium earned to everyone, not just Delta Recruits. Hitting the second benchmark improves this to 100% more dilithium, and hitting the third and final benchmark increases this to 150% more dilithium for everyone for the entire week!
Excuse me, but I can count.. why are we only receiving a 25% bonus? This time we sure as H do deserve an answer.
Looks like you can count, but failed to recount...just turned in contraband (which has a normal yield of 2000) and got 3500. So despite the fact that we didn't reach tier 2, we seem to have gotten a bonus a proportionate distance between the tiers.

Seems that a lot that usually got a bonus doesn't now. For instance, didn't get any bonus dil for reputation projects.
Its the end of the Delta Recruitment event, so its time for the final stretch. Youve earned your stripes, scavenged dilithium, and worked hard to assist a fleet.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
This week's goal and reward are win in every way that last week's were not. Praise be. It's hard to say no to bonus marks, and this week we're back to a goal that rewards us for things we are probably already motivated to do anyway. That's really key, here.
If there's one thing that the Delta events and stretch goals have done, it's very clearly illustrated what kinds of activities players tend to enjoy--and what kinds they don't, regardless of how they're incentivized. The stark contrast between last week's outcome and the rest of the Delta recruiting event speaks for itself in terms of what players felt motivated to do.
It is one thing for us to point out that grinding mission replays just isn't fun, or to see the typical tedious uproar from the forums about... well, anything, really. It is another thing entirely when there is hard data clearly supporting that position.
I'm sure the dev team has access to considerably more detailed metrics than we do, including all the crosstabs. As much as people on these forums mock Geko's supposed reliance on "metrics", it is simply a fact that important decisions must be made based on good data. Anecdotal outrage from the vocal minority who participate in online forums has very, very limited value. Good data tells a story.
That is one of the most logical, thoughtful and intelligent posts that I have read regarding this matter.
Even a massive outcry on forums is not necessarily indicative of the majority. A percentage of disgruntled players will take to the forums with the verbal equivalent of torches and pitchforks but the majority of players will be... playing.
This can provide a very skewed view of how things appear to the average player who reads the forums. What's amazing about this skewed perception is how few people seem to realize it and constantly refer to the forums as justification for their opinion of the game's direction or the reception for any given content or event.
I sincerely apologize in advance if we don't reach the goals for next weeks rewards. I am incapable of doing STF's and other queued activities because of numerous personal shortcomings. The main problem is that I cannot communicate with the team members, because I can't do Teamspeak. I've tried reading their website, as well as trying to read a guide that someone posted. Alas, I lack the requisite intellect for such a pursuit. No joke. Right now, I have a sad because I keep seeing these awsome posters about the war and I cannot help. I really feel like I've benn declared 4F. Everytime I try to learn something it's like a step gets omitted because the author figures that "everyone Must know that". so they don's need to restate it. I don't even know which headset would work. I'm sorry to have to mention these things but I really don't like sitting idle while everyone else tries. Someday there will hopefully be instructions that I can actually follow. Fleet Admiral Kul ir'Saijja out.
I know this probably means you won't be able to make a Delta recruit Character now but do we still get to finish leveling & getting the rewards for our current Delta recruits or is the whole delta thing being taken off? coz that'd be a pretty annoying.

Teamspeak is not required for STFs. In fact, I would guess more players do not use it than do. All you need is to pay attention to the ingame chat channel 'team' (and even then many pug teams simply don't communicate). If learning the methods to win certain STFs is an issue, get somebody ingame to walk you through them, slowly on normal difficulty if need be so you can figure it out/ask questions in your own time without autofail pressure. If finding someone to tutor you is hard, fleetmates can be handy.

The point that you can't create a delta recruit is the day the event ends, which is May 21st. As it is only May 8th at the time of this posting, you still have time to create another recruit before the event is over.
This is just a clarification to help future posters in this thread on the following. When they say this is the final week, they mean its the final week that we are working to unlock a bonus week. Lets look back at how it worked.
Week 1 (4/2-4/9) No bonus week, working towards bonus XP
Week 2 (4/9-4/16) Bonus XP, working towards bonus Commendation XP
Week 3 (4/16-4/23) Bonus CXP, working towards bonus R&D XP
Week 4 (4/23-4/30) Bonus R&D XP, working towards bonus Energy credits and Latinum
Week 5 (4/30-5/7) Bonus EC and GPL, working towards bonus Dilithium Week 6 (5/7-5/14) Bonus Dilithium, working towards bonus marks
Week 7 (5/14-5/21) Bonus Marks
As you see, we're on week 6 now, so if we unlock the final week bonus, that will take affect the en of maintenance on 5/14.
No, talking about project rewards, not t5 completion reward. Still got 50% bonus last dil weekend. So very new nerf.
Not if you are talking about mark or BNP/... turn-in projects..
Since the last dil bonus event (including the last event) mark turn-ins no longer get the bonus dil.
Not that surprising since you are basically hoarding marks/BNPs/.. for months till the event comes, and then doing nothing but hours and hours of queueing the mark turn-in project during a weekend instead of playing the missions whike the event's running.. at least that's what I used to do.. was one boring weekend of converting 10.000s of marks
All in all, can't blame them.. gives me less dil, but also eliminates those boring weekends

No, the daily/hourly projects gave an extra 50% last weekend, kind of lame they don't get a bonus now.

anyone saying you need TS for STO is a liar ( teamspeak is useful for competitive PvP and nothing else ...in Guild Wars - the original - it was mandatory for PvP but I haven't seen any MMO since requiring it to that extent )
Teamspeak for PvE-content is major BS ( because the entire thing is scripted ,i.e. always the same procedure ) . As someone else stated : do a run-through of the STF - or whatever it is - in question with fleetmates that explain what you have to do. If noone is willing to do that, I suggest you search for another, better fleet ASAP ...
Question, when the delta even ends, do the delta objectives go away for those recruits who haven't finished them? (completed story arcs and such) or can they still finish all the objectives and gain the rewards?

All you need to do to have a Delta Recruit toon is complete the tutorial (DON'T skip it) - when you've spoken to the Temporal Contact the first time around per character, you can then complete the objectives in your own time even if the event ends.

Try joining a public queue on 'normal' difficulty, like Infected space . There is always a first time .
Just look at what a (seemingly capable) player is doing and follow / copy him .
Infected goes like this:
1. Take out the immediate targets
2. Go left and take out the targets on top of the generators .
3. Destroy the 4 small generators surrounding the bigger one .
This should be done in coordination , as their destruction triggers two things:
You get a few enemies right on top of you (ignore them) .
A number of ships come through the center gate (when they approch , theseships can cause you to loose the optional [on normal difficulty] , or fail the mission [on advanced difficulty] ) .
4. So, ignore the ships on top of you, and after your team destroyed the 4 small generators, just blow up the bigger generator (called a transformer) as fast as you can .
You have to do this as fast as possible , even if it means you'll get blown up .
5. Kill all the probes around you .
6. Move over to the right side of the gate (watch out, the gate shoots too, so go around it) .
Repeat points 2-5 .
7. Once the second large generator / transformer is blown, a Tactical Cube will come through the gate .
At this point look at what your other team members are doing .
If they are shooting at the gate, do that too .
If they are shooting at the TAC Cube, do that .
The point is that you focus fire on a target , as they die faster if more players are shooting at it .
This is true of all targets .
Hope this helps, and don't be afraid to try , as you learn by trying .
Trust me, more ppl will be upset with you if you go into advanced missions without doing them on normal first .
And remember : it's OK to TRIBBLE up on normal , so don't be too hard on yourself (or your fellow players) if that happens .
