Pilot ship weapon load out and stats guess's

So now that we know that Pilot ships get special maneuvers... and there mobility is going to be better then any escort out there with the ability to roll and even reverse direction with a simple double tap/keybind have to wonder what there weapon load outs are going to be.

They are clearly a escort but will a 4/3 be op on a ship that will be able to keep its forward guns on you almost all the time while avoiding fire.

Or will they just have super thin hulls and shields.. a even more glass cannon design.

Also I'm kind of surprised with the KDF design though. It looks like a mini raptor. With a ship this maneuverable you would of that they would of taken more of a bird of prey design.

Whats your guys speculation on Pilot ships stats and weapons?

    Weapons, i'm going to guess the standard escort layout.

    Given how fast these guy are I wouldn't mine a 5/2 or even a 5/1 lay out.. becoming almost dog fighter layout.. so any type of CC is a real danger if you can lock them down.

    if you are looking for a t6 ship 5/2 escort there is already one in game : the Manasa

    very good one and it's starship trait is also good

    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Standard stats.
    Standard weapons.
    Standard layouts.

    Old stuff with the new mechanic, new consoles, and new traits.

    And an upgrade 6 months to a year down the line with slightly better stats, a new skin, and the same $30 price tag.

    My guess is that weapons loadout will be standard Escort fare: 4/3. 5/2 would not surprise me that much, really, considering the hit & run nature of these ships.

    Hull & Shields? I would be surprised if they were on par with current Escorts. I would imagine they'd be between Raider & Escort ships in durability.

    Speed & Maneuverability? I predict them to be superior to Escorts. Very close to Raider quality.

    Defense? I'm guessing that their possible Bonus Defense will be equal to or higher than Escorts.

    PVP, PVE. IMHO, Pilot Ships, Pilot Spec & Bonuses, are PVP-oriented applications. The vast majority of it doesn't really mean anything in the current meta of STO. Current TAC Cruisers and top performing monsters in the Escort department, or Science Exotic Damage builds have nothing to fear about the new kid overtaking them in DPS. The status quo isn't going to change, unless further stat reveals on Pilot ships shows them to be so glaringly overpowered. Other than something drastic like that, Pilot ships and spec will merely be a different flavor of things.

    Why need stats when you can be invulnerable by doing a barrel roll?

    Yeah, it was one thing when they did the Friday blog and we wouldn't see stats until Tuesday or Wednesday...but now...meh, can wait.

    Well, we'll see how quickly they raise the ship cap again... There are probably still a few specs they can invent, along with 3-pack ships, and then they still have to cover all the canon ships to give them a Tier 6 variant.

    You will lag out and then be DC'd.

    Throw the console from the Hirogen Heavy Escort on there for 180 degree turns plus immunity too.

    PVP, PVE. IMHO, Pilot Ships, Pilot Spec & Bonuses, are PVP-oriented applications.

    Except with the Feds and KDFs; neither of whom have a T6 ship with Commander Tac and LTC Science. I'm actually curious as to what the BOFF and console loadout will be - I'm kinda hoping for a 2 eng/4sci/5 tac console Pilot to trump the Mobius.

    i guess it will have a 5/2 layout. cause they are meant to manouver. so "having" to face front makes sense to me. would make things interesting.

    since the later t6 defiant will have the standard escort layout already.

    i defenetely go for 5/2.


    consoles are clear: tacvariant will have the +1 tac, eng +1eng, sci +1sci

    basic is 4,3,3 (+1engi for all fleetvariants, if they come)

    the boff layout:

    eng gets ltcom eng, sci gets ltcom sci, tac gets ltcom tac.

    one lt will be uni, the other one will be the interchanged ones eng =sci lt, sci = tac lt, tac = eng lt


    its always this way ^^ so noone gets surplus eng, tac or sci ^^


    i just hope the costume we are seeing is either the eng or better the sci variant. cause i like to have gravwell1 ;-)

    Well one of the pilot skills I forgot the name make you have zero inertia so.. you pop that while rolling side ways past a target the whole time keeping your guns on target.

    I can see this being a "fun" ship to fly around. The issue at least for end game is survivability with all the effects going off...

    I would like a more front gun lay out.. 5/2 or something like that.

    I think it will need more survivability then a raider as it doesn't get that extra damage from flank attack (that we know of).

    In pvp dueling with these ships could be a lot of fun though.

    To the person on why we should speculate.. because its fun to do?
