Looking to free up some space now that Im under 100 gb left. Installed STO late 2010, and I get the idea my PC isnt deleting old useless data, but snowballing all the patches over the years. Anyone got a newish install file size to confirm my hunch? I think Ive got the old Best Buy purchased install CD that I assume will still work so I can keep avoiding arc. Or should I just bite the Arc bullet as that whole CD will reinstall all useless data too.

Might be worth taking a trip down memory lane for your old screenshots folder before you delete. Remember, custom costumes are also stored there as images.

My screenshot folder is my screensaver. So I see memory lane every day. Ive got over 1000 screenshots now, and those are the ones that made the cutting room floor. Every few months I go through and delete the bad shots, usually deleting ones with lots of game FX showing and kerp the more pure shots that look movie and tv worthy. Year 1 I had an older video card so when those pictures show up, its like my own TOS era lol. I have so many space and away team photos of the best parts of episodes and many foundry mission shots. I love watching my 5 year STO career for my alts, sometimes I hesitate to take it off screensaver to see what photo is coming next. I'll pull that whole folder out before I delete the current game files. Another thing Ive done, only my main plays the main story line and my alts have foundry photos, so it looks like they all had separate careers in my photo album. Eventually I made one of my bridge officers into a captain, she tooksome of the old original crew too. So I see them when they were younger officers on away missions, and when they went on to have higher ranks on their new ship. Before I knew you could save outfits, and paste it onto new BOs, Id lose old ones and create new ones. Then years later I looked at old screenshots and recreated those officers as if they had gone away and came back. My photo album has a great sense of Starfleet family to it.
