Question: Skills: will STO do more skills in a lottery box?

There is for instance this Kemathingy skill, it comes out of a lock box: is this the new way for Cryptic to go, or is this a one-time happening?

I am not trying to make a war here, I am just curious, since, unless I am wrong, no other skill ever came out of a box before.
Money-wise this is a formidable idea, I'll give them that.

I for one hope this is a one time event, hate to see this game change into a Pay2Win formula...

    I would assume that Skills and Traits will be regular contributors to Lockboxes from this point onward.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    PTW formula is all cryptic understands so it will become normal I believe

    Strange, in one way they wanted to close the gap between new and old players, then they do this.
    I hope it will not drive people away...

    I don't pay particular attention to the lockbox drops because I don't interact with the game that way.

    Do you mean the Bridge Officer abilities/traits in the Xindi lockbox?

    Pay to win what exactly? At single player PVE? At time-locked group PVE? I'm told PVP is dead so no impact there.

    This same argument was being had a couple of Lockboxes back when they started adding exclusive Traits to them. And before it was Traits it was Consoles, etc. There is always going to be something exclusive in a Lockbox that others want. It is the wanting that drives people to buy the Keys.

    Will cryptic do something that gives them more money as people buy the new 'must have' edge?

    Hmm... the words 'bear' , 'TRIBBLE' and 'woods' come to mind....

    One need only ask themselves:

    "Is it profitable"

    and there is your answer.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm a capitalist all the way, but I much prefer the direct purchase route, than the Las Vegas Route. But, that's just me.
