Reward packs are now automatically unpacked when received and function just like system patrol rewards such as in the Delta Quadrant.
The daily repeatable missions for these have been removed.
Added a 30 minute cooldown to each Borg Red Alert.
Each Borg Red Alert requires the Captain to be at least level 50 to enter.

Why are these now level 50 ???????????????
What is with removing the daily repeatable missions ? Isnt DR supposed to be the repeat everything til you are 60 expansion ?
probably because of the XP bonus . personally i used to do them once a day for the dil then any after that just go in a kill borg. but NOT finish off groups completely meaning just fly off and leave one probe or sphere flying around and move on to next group. just to get more kills=more experience. so chalk this up as another nerf. because you could hit the red alerts a couple times per spawn, then go to a new sector and do it all again.
but lvl 50 seems a bit high why not tie it to the other borg stuff? i think lvl 40 or somewhere in that ball park.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.
I'm disappointed that after a successful completion, I can't stick jump to other maps to help other players complete the mission.....and earn some more xp. It is also making it much harder to earn the Nemesis of the Collective accolade.
I can understand not allowing players to complete the mission more that once every 30 minutes. But preventing players from joining other maps in progress is garbage. Please fix this.
The part that really aggravates me is the blind one-way transwarp it demands you accept in order to go there. Your bridge crew is so selectively incompetent that they can apparently detect Borg around Qo'noS all the way from Sol, but refuse to tell you where it is or bring you back when you're done.
Completely inane and unnecessary. It should warp you directly to the instance like it did before, and return you to where you were when you exit. Failing that, it's still completely indefensible to not tell the player where their own crew is planning to warp them before making them choose whether or not to do so.

The Dil and Omega Marks wasn't the point for me on the Borg RA's. It was the XPs. Now this, alongside the series of nerfs to Patrols since Profits Rising, is merely another bad step.
I was also not fond of the notion of restricting the Borg RA's to Lv50+. Lower ranked players should be given the opportunity to participate in the defense against the Borg. Does that mean the higher ranked ones need to carry the load more in such cases where lower ranked players are in? Sure does. But it's Normal difficulty content and a Lv50+ should be able to shoulder the whole thing by himself/herself, with a bunch of lower ranked players in tow.
Why not show off to the new players with your fancy ship and build? Show them something to strive for! Borg RA's were the only place players regardless of level and ship tier, regardless of faction, could jump in together and play. Not so anymore
It is a minor annoyance if that, and one I'm not going to pick a fight about. If they are going to have a minimum level, I say maybe it should have been when you meet Admiral D'vak on DS9. That would have made it a bit earlier, but not to the point where you have a bunch of Mirandas trying to bring down a behemoth command ship with nowhere near the firepower to do so.
I would agree that 50+ is too high for Borg Red Alerts. Also, doesn't Achebe say that "by now, you've faced the Borg" in the 2800? Doesn't really apply anymore.
I think the best compromise is like others have said to give access to Borg Red Alerts at around level 40. That way, those that have recently reached level 40 are at least geared up enough to cause some harm to the Borg and get a feel for Borg fighting strategy.

Oh my god, so much THIS. I remember when I first started, I've always enjoyed Borg stuff so I was really excited when I saw my first Borg red alert. I warped in and was surrounded by all these gigantic starships that dwarfed mine, and I could barely get through a single encounter without getting shredded. I felt hopelessly outclassed, and I loved it. It didn't matter to me that I blew up at least once in every fight--me and my 200 DPS were having fun fighting the Borg, and the Borg are supposed to outclass me. And seeing all those high-tier starships practically soloing entire groups of Borg had the exact effect on me that you describe.
Now I drive a Fleet Eclipse with endgame gear, and I'm the guy in the huge starship soloing Borg encounters and keeping the heat off the little guys. It saddens me that others will not get to have the same experience.

I don't remember about KDF, but Feds face the Borg in the tutorial and Roms at least during the Tal Shiar episodes, so it applies. It never referred to the alerts. Regardlesss of when alerts become available, the plot can't just assume the player has played any.
As for the alerts, 50+ sounds about right, if the player is expected to actually contribute. I tried a few at a lower level when leveling my Delta Recruit, it was useless. 40+ might work, barely, since you would at least be flying some kind of T5, but the enemies are scaled to 50.

Yeah the Dominion stuff is level 35.
Hmm... I can't think of a KDF mission that uses the Borg right now.
