Paging Taco

hey Taco, I was wondering if you could answer this problem? I don't kow when you have time to check this.
apparently I'm having problems with STO's screenshot system. you see, I took screenshots from Arc side, the new ones did't show up in the screenshots folder. here is literally no new ones shown here. it just doesn't show a photo. not single one. just older ones.

could be this a bug or a problem in client side? no matter what I try to do to resolve this, it still shows same problem. so I'm confused and wondering, "what happened to the screenshots I took today?" could you look into it?

    Make a ticket.... It's not the devs job to, necessarily, be around to take bug reports via the forums.

    Check PWE's folder in Program files. I had to go digging, but did eventually find them. Also, for a while they came up black and that's it. If this happens with you, make sure to turn Anti-Aliasing off.

    yes I know, but they turned off the in-game ticket system since the update.
    that's why I posted this, to see if it has happened before.

    quoted wrong post guy. Did you end up trying to steps I've recommended. It might be under Program Files 86 as well. File folder Perfect World.

    Sucks. Good luck to you. I can understand why you want to get a devs attention. I think it's unfair to Taco, but I think it would go a long way for them to acknowledge problems in some sort of list. It can't honestly take that much time to compile a weekly list of new or known bugs.

    Thanks Taco, by the way, for being so engaging even if you don't find the time for this post. It's really inspired me to like this game when I see the devs active with the community again.

    It's hard for me to say where your screenshots are ending up since it depends on a number of factors.

    Some people's shots end up in their Documents folder, or individual users folder, rather than the cryptic/STO folders?

    Have you tried there?

    Screenshots are named in a format that marks the exact time you took the shot, so if you time it, you could search for that time, and possibly find the file?

    e.g. screenshot_2012-09-17-10-35-57.jpg
    was taken on 9-17-2012, at 10:35:57AM

    I have the same problem with the prtscr button, but it works if it do the /screenshot_jpg command.

    How are you taking you screenshots?

    I did a search for it six times, tried different times and same date, i never found it. it's like.. they vanished the moment a screenshot was taken. I have no idea what happened to it. just no record, no trace. almost like they were never here.

    just very much at loss. not sure how did that happen. :confused:

    just a update, I'm unable to find it at all. I tried everything from client restarts, computer restarts. they don't show up anywhere at all. :eek: :confused:

    How have you searched. Are you looking through folders or are you using the ctrl f type function. I would do a search for the word screenshot or .jpg and see what you find. The. Hopefully you can sort by date if you have a lot. You might have already tried this.

    that's where mine go.... What's the path to your install directory?

    Oh wait... you said Arc.... hmmm *looks around in Arc data files* I don't see a separate SS directory there. But maybe.... Yep, I have a shadow folder.

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Perfect World Entertainment

    try looking there.

    Windows searches might skip it since by default windows DOESN'T search these places.

    EDIT: I have a folder there for Champions, but it doesn't usually put screenshots there. I don't have one for STO there at all, but one of my other games(Space Empires 5) has all it's saved data files get stuck there.

    I did that as well, still nothing. I think the client is broken.

    then have windows search your entire hard drive for files named "findme.jpg"?

    *tests*

    Wait... /screenshot makes TGA files. So use /screenshot_jpg fidnme.jpg

    it's not here actually. I did what you suggested. so I really think client side might be borked. particularly with my own screenshots.

    just a update. I'm getting my screenshots through Steam.. the Arc side is broken as hell. so I'm still using Steam for photoshoots. I got some awesome photos :D
