This will probably be closed, or flamed upon (I hope not, I still, for some reason, hope people are a tad smarter than this, although it has been proven otherwise).
This is not a personal attack, nor an insult, and so, please do not treat this post as such.
If I come a bit harsh over, I am autistic, it's not easy for me to make a post about this topic.
Lately, people are actually nagging virtually continuously about silly things as "too dark a space", "Too few people in sector space (actually, that's incorrect, there is not less people in Sector Space, it's a side effect of the increased space, that makes it look as if there's less people in sector space)", "space became too large", minor things that simply -at least TO ME!!!- are too futile to be brought up.
There are far worse things in life, and yes, I made a few posts about for instance the Gorn Attack Styles (they do not seem natural to me for a predatory intelligent animal), and this too is, in it's own way futile, so this post is also to me (not bad eh?).
Could we, for a few, just stop doing this?
Sir Taco, for one (excuse me for bringing you up, Sir) seems to be one of the victims of our constant nagging and bickering.
We never (hyperbole) seem to accept or appreciate their attempts of pleasing us, or we do not show this (enough).
So, let's be more adult again, and leave the childish things where they belong: the kindergarten?
Being autistic, I am an emotional flat-liner, but I do understand the meaning behind respect, or common decency.
I cannot say I "feel" sorry for you, my friend, but, for what it's worth, I AM sorry for you.
I really am.
personally i like how the new maps are less crowded more elbow room instead of being up someones aft and someone up mine in a huge intergalactic traffic jam.
as far as too dark?....i dont think it is i like the new map its great.
but to be honest ive found most of the beetching comes from those damn nit picky trekkies who think everything has got to be perfect or else they whine and complain.
Those types ruin it for everyone else they need to stop thier whining and just enjoy the damn game

People have the right to voice their own opinions. Attempting to stop them just because you don't like what they're saying is against the law.

The Star Trek Online forums are here to provide feedback to the developers, some of that feedback will be positive and some of it negative, both types are valid. More importantly, even though some feedback is valid and some feedback is not, you are not in a position to judge that on the developers half.
And while I'm sure they appreciate your concern for their feelings, I sincerely doubt any developer asked you to create an entirely new thread just to come to their defense against all the complaints they have received about the lighting in sector space or the mixed reaction they've gotten to how uncrowded sector space is now.
but to be honest ive found most of the beetching comes from those damn nit picky trekkies who think everything has got to be perfect or else they whine and complain.
I like "perfection" as well, not graphical, but lore-wise.
To me, if you make a game about some theme, one would actually, I think, like to see that theme in that game.
I do, yes...
And I too dare voicing my thought about this.
But, I hope, by God, I do not nag, or that I am respectfully voicing my thoughts...
People have the right to voice their own opinions.
Seems I wasn't clear: It's not what people say, but HOW they say it.
I respect other people's ideas, I have mine as well, but there is voicing this idea, or "voicing this idea".
I'm not talking about the content, but about how some people bring this forward.
To be honest I like what they've done with sector space. Granted it means I have to pay a little more attention to where I'm going when doffing. But able to get around much faster now that i dont have to contend with so many map loading screens. Plodding along at warp 4.5 in my delta recruit was a little tedious at first, but first chance I got he was given a tuffli equipped with fleet engines and a half decent warp core and off he went. Once they sort the doffing assignments out that appear to be missing it'll be even better.
I am a pure bred idiot and sociopath.
I also like the sound of the keys when I type.
I complain when a company doesn't do what I want because I think they work for me.
And I just don't complain, I go on and on and on.
Look at McDonalds. I order a Big Mac and it doesn't look like the image on the menu, I complain and complain.
"The lettuce is out of place" I say "you lied to me!"
And I demand more.
"This Big Mac hasn't filled me up. I deserve an entire meal!" Even though I didn't pay for an entire meal.
Days and days go by and I complain about my Big Macs. I could go to Burger King but it isn't Burger King that lied to me!
So here I am 5 years later complaining about the McDonald's lie: the Big Mac in there lobby. I will tell everyone who listens to me. If nobody listens, I have to sound more shocked and angry.
I am there right now for my complaining to McDonald's shift.
What he probably means, but expressed in a clumsy Kindergarten way, is that impeding on someone's right to Free Speech could be tortuous under certain circumstances. This not being one of those cases, btw; if for nothing else, because this is a privately owned board: PWE's forums, PWE's rules.
Yeah. The game has had nice improvements lately. The sector space revamp is beautiful and one day, I'll make an alt and it will be glorious to level through all of that. The Delta Recruit has been awesome as well.

Thank you all.
Respectfully yours:

You must be new to the forums. Welcome!!! Most of the stuff that people write in here are negative so that is nothing new since it's been going since launched.
Like ESD zone chat...up to you to "ignore" or participate on discussions. Most are meaningless but some could be really interesting. At times players do help each other with builds/missions/support. Not everything is dark but up to you to find the few rays of sunshine in these forums.
And I have no issue with people constructively expressing their views on a recent update (like Sector Space).
The only time I take issue, is when someone is making it personal, calling devs names, or saying that we are incompetent/should be fired/etc.
If you stay constructive, and make your posts in a way that is simply discussing the issue you have with a feature, it's not a problem.
That said, I (we) may disagree, and there is no guarantee that action will be taken because of your posts. Please recognize this. Make your case, discuss your case, but don't expect change because of it. And definitely don't expect change tomorrow. Change takes time.
I like nagging over the long term. If there is a bug that has been a problem for a while, bringing it up once a month is not a bad thing. We do forget about things at times, so reminding us periodically is good. (like :gasp!: A unified sector space!)
I dislike nagging over the short term. If a bug has occurred last week, bringing it up again and again before the next patch is not helping anyone.
There is only two things "broken" about this game at the moment.
1. unplayable lag for many of us.
2. the items returning but arent in the mail, absent from account bank.... Etc.
These two issues are indeed game breaking at the moment.
I had about 150million ecs worth of beams on the exchange which i pulled off due to the uncertainty that if they are "returned"....... then i wont be getting them back at all....
Hmmm, how about the nerf to ionic turbulence and surgical strikes for balance reasons. The QQ the pvp community generated to get those two fixed was so delicious and mighty.
To find more examples like this, perhaps you can search for posts by borticuscryptic in the gameplay bug section using this forum's search functions?
Nagging ftw!
No, that wasn't nagging, that was based on repeated feedback showing that it was over powered.
The best example of nagging in this game is the T5 connie. Nothing has been more nagged about than the T5 Connie. Do you see a T5 Connie? I don't.
Logical arguments and facts lead to change, nagging does not.

Sorry for the misunderstanding from my part out.
Contradicting yourself in 1 post....
GZ dude, that was fast.
Uhm your avatar is wrong

Nagging never moves anything forward. The devs just listen to the intelligent posters that give constructive criticism and then ignores the naggers.
