Hi guys, (vets {pre-2014} dont bother with this post) Just wondering Its taken me 6 months with one main and 3 new Delta recruit alts to accrue enough DIL for 3K zen -- this is apart from
1.) A competitive t5-u or t-6 ship you may have decided to spend the 30 to 60 dollars from
2.) expenditure to be competitive at advanced ques that is you can do atleast 30k in ISA ... (this can include loads of things so i wont bother to list em)
3) earn enough dil to respec captain skills to something that fits your ship and build.
Then I got myself 2 other alt characters to grind with, my next 2k took a month because I REALLY wanted to buy something.
now I have 3k zen sitting there playing the market as I don't have any urgent need for it.
to gear up a ship.............that look hell of a lot longer, took me 6 month to learn the fine art of building a ship. Took forever to level up the R&D to craft stuff.

Ahh nice good to know they are a few f2p peeps still here!
2-3 days or so. Plus longer to refine it of course, but the grinding done in a few days. You don't have to cheat or anything, you just find something that makes a good return on playtime investment then wait till a dil weekend and treat it like an assembly line over and over and over. Weekend ends, you have enough dil to run on for a couple of months of playing only what you want. Work smarter not harder, as they say, and I certainly wouldn't work hard at this game.

yep! plus the turn in 500 repstuff for 5k dil at 5 seconds has helped immensely too in rep stuff. this Delta Recruit thing has helped me considerably as well too. Hope cryptic adds a few more of these encouraging little benefits in the few years ahead. Its fun to earn a bit from the game ..makes me really want to spend a bit on something I like without the wait ;-)
Run 2 KDF alts to gather Contraband and send 2/3 of it to your 2 fed toon. All for 4 toons should hit 8k a day. If you have a fleet mine you can refine 500 more dil each day per toon. BTW the KDF doffing takes about 20 minutes for both toons a day.
So you should make 32,000 dil a day (34,000 is possible)
whats your gear/traits you put on your character to be a contributor to the dino hunt?
The dyson ground zone doesn't require special gear or traits, just the willingness to go there and shoot the lizards, and the smarts to figure what has to be done in each area to capture it, and the patience to spend an hour or 3 in the zone racking up dilithium ore, from the area payouts, silo payouts, bonus, and from cashing in your voth cyber implants, you can make enough ore to keep you refining for 2-3 days in a couple of hours.

Would take around 9 days to make 3000 Zen at the current Exchange rate...about 90-100 minutes a day.
Im averaging 290 minutes on days im free from life lol !! and im only playing about 4 alts with only 2 making their quotas of 8k dill lol. I do spend lots of time rubbernecking the forums ..especially the flotilla part of the 3 factions.
With 8 characters, running only 1 round of doffing a day (my current laziness), and assuming no additional sources like reputation hourlies...
3000 x 225 = 675000 dilithium
3000 x 8 = 24000 dilithium per day
675000 / 24000 = 29 days (rounded)
Again, that's one doffing cycle a day. Doing two cycles and reputation hourlies pretty much gets near cap. With just that slight additional effort I can shave that time down to ten days. Slow and steady wins the race, also having a large stockpile helps.
My 8 toons are nothing compared to some people. I wouldn't be surprised if they generated 3k Zen a day.

oddly enough im a vet pre-2014. been around since late 2010, but ive never had the chance to top 3k zen before. just so you know. im not a grind type of person, i never have been.
i used to spend time online to enjoy it until the disaster site that season 8 was that came along, now its just wasting time on the game.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I'm aiming for the Delta pack (I'm roughly halfway there, but i'll probably sneak in some 20 cash when I'm almost there, so I need pretty much exactly 5k ZEN), so I've crunched some numbers.
With 4 alts, and no grinding (just doffing, doing the easy dil stuff like path to 2409 trivia and quick reputation queues for hourly rep tasks, and playing the game), I make some 25k dil a day.
To get the 650k dil (current exchange rate) it will take some 26 days. Unless I somehow find enough time to start more alts and finish the 1st episode arc (I still have some open slots) :P
I am a vet (2011) but I am also f2p now. I found that the hourly rep projects in maxed reputations are really worth the investment if you have alts with maxed reps and some marks to spare.
One hourly project in all lvl 5 reputations nets you roughly 2000 dil on one char (~350 per rep x 5 = 1750 plus one 500 dil marks project). If you have 3 alts with maxed reps running the hourly project on all of them nets you 8000 zen across your account for one hourly project that runs while you are off doing something else (even log off the game). If you do that four times a day (just log on for five minutes to start the projects) you make 32k dil per day, plus if you happen to play anyway everything you make via contraband doffing, STFs or episodes anyway. The dyson BZ is also the most efficient dil farm in my opinion.
Rates are pretty high right now, I am glad I converted my dil for the 5000zen iconic ship pack when it was below 200

With my multiple kdf contraband farmer-prisoner takers during yhe week i do one round of turn ins a day each plus three toons maxing 8k (this is during the week ill do more contra on the weekend) i average around 40k a day at that rate it takes about two weeka a little less however i max if theres something i really wanna go for so its possible to get about 100k a day if i really want it (probably more if i include my feds) so less than a week if i am really trying assuming i dont already have a decent pile going (i try to keep at least 200k banked)
I quit the game for a few years. When I came back the other day I had 20,000 zen. Lifetime subscription was a bet I lost. Still have not played enough to cover the original $250 cost.

Thats $200 plus numerous perks, bank slots, couple free ships, char slots, various other perks. Even not playing you've made it back, maybe not the exact cash to stuff ratio you're looking for though..

True. If you're disappointed with the game itself and the way it went, all that stuff doesn't really help. I am actually glad I never got a LTS, I just subbed for a few months when it was still P2P.

1 Zen=225 dil
142.2 zen a day
21 days to 3000 zen

Though with the conversion rates as they are, I am holding onto the Dilithium I have until it goes down to a more reasonable level...

CA Event rakes in some serious amount of dil if you run it on all alts. So that makes 14 days of farming and about 7 more days of refining.

I will never spend Dilithium to get Zen.

Hey... I'm F2P too .
To answer the title question.
5,000 Zen in about 12 months... This is because I was not in a hurry!
