That would be pretty cool if it was true. Plenty of MMO games are converting too so it be nice if I could play on the X1 since more of my friends play more on consoles than on pc, I prefer to switch between platforms often. Seems like ground combat would be better suited to console since it's not really overly complicated while key-binding could work in some form. I think Neverwinter seemed to find a good way of balance it since it seemed to make the conversion easy to navigate.
PW created an entire new Console Division for its corporation - which led to NW going Console. That Division has nothing inherently to do with Cryptic - as they are converting many PW games to Console, not just Cryptic's games. NW just happened to be first because it is a big property and they wanted it added to their Asian market quickly. DStahl is not leading the Console Division for PW. He is still working for Cryptic.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

My post was a joke. As I said in other posts, I think it is highly unlikely STO will ever be ported to console.
