the Space/Ground Traits was a very good idea but if you want to play Ground AND Space at elite you have to change them by hand everytime you go from space to ground back to space to ground.....
Is it so impossible to let the players choose traits for both or implant a system which change traits automatic if you go space or ground it takes rly much time to change them and every grp needs to wait until all changed them its boring.
This is up there as one of the most requested things that would actually make the game much better for everyone.
As it stands most people spec for only space and rarely if ever swap things about for ground. Means any ground content is getting a raw deal as player can't perform as well and therefore don't really enjoy it as much.
Basically players can't be bothered swapping things around and nobody trusts the loadout system to bother with that either.
Now a separation of the two areas for traits would be excellent provided it didn't include some sort of nerf like the reputation traits got.
Al "Gecko" Rivera said in a TrekRadio interview about a month ago that he was looking to have the Captain Traits be split into 9 Ground and 9 Space sometime in the future.
More recently, he recorded an interview with PriorityOne Podcast last Saturday, just became available to listen to today, in which he revisited that issue and said it is a simple thing to add, but what is holding it up is that naturally, there are not 9 ground and 9 space traits in each alien species to fill all the slots without buying traits from Lockboxes or Genetic Resequencers.
As such, he has stated that splitting the traits will have to wait until they can provide enough traits to all the species to fill both sides without cost to the player.

I don't understand what's wrong with that. All it does it tell players there are options out there to fill them with.

My Joined Trill Delta is "stuck" running an 8/1 Space-ground build already because she's maxxed out on space traits and has more slots than space traits.
That, and I haven't gone lockbox shopping for her, yet.
On that note, since I'm "damned if I do, damned if I don't", could I has 9 ground slots so that I can actually start slotting all these ground traits or am I stuck running 8/1 till the braintrust does their jobs?
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Not doing it because there are not enough traits is nonsense IMO.
Having the trait slots gives people the incentive to access more, either buying lockboxes (= buying keys) or buying them off the exchange (drives demand for them = more lockboxes opened = buying keys).
It's really a win-win for Cryptic.
Plus the traits are not that expensive anyway and you can get several from missions to boost your available choices (Surface Tension has 2 available).
Hell they give you 10 odd starship slots but there's not enough end level ships to fill those up without paying money, why not do the same for traits!

This is wrong in so many ways i´ve never thougth this could fit in such less words....
a f2p game which an option is not implantetd because if they do the players need to buy something... https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5491/10574265464_449a1b2b96_b.jpg

Missions are quick enough, plus you have your boffs that traits only really matter in queued content.

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
