Friday I plan on spending some extra money to get enough zen so I can get the Dauntless. From what I have seen that's a sweet little ship that can kick some butt. I don't have a lot of credits for the higher end gear, but if anyone could suggest a sweet build for me that will allow me to keep my Charged Particle burst that would be great. I have fallen in love with that power. I eagerly await everyone's suggestions. Mainly I'm looking for a build that will let me control the fight by burning through people's shields in a hurry.
I mainly plan on doing a lot of STF runs and the delta quadrant content. My Fed science toon is about to hit Admiral but I really want a good build to try. Please note, I just came back to STO so i do not have a lot of fleet credits or do I have a lot of energy credits to buy the good gear a lot of you may have. So any suggestions would be helpful and my Dauntless will be using Anti-Proton weapons. Looking forward to your suggestions
I'm a huge Dauntless fan. If you have some deep pockets and can stand blowing up from time to time, the Dauntless is for you. But you said you needed more of a budget build, and you'd like to do STFs...
First off, you need to pick what you want to do. Either a shield stripping drainer, or a crowd controller. Either a beam boat, or a torp boat. Why focus your build? Remember, a jack of all trades is a master of nothing.
On the basic version you'll want 2x rare Conn Officers (Tac team cool down variant) and either 3x rare Damage Control Engineers or 2x very rare Damage Control Engineers and 1x Gravimetric Scientist (aftershock variant). Set power to 100/15/15/70; keep the nose if you're ship in target and mash your keybind.
The Dauntless' trait is okay, but not essential. Either way, shoot for a Fleet Dauntless. Oh, and start saving EC to invest in a Plasmonic Leech console.
Yea the Fleet Dauntless is way out of my price range for now, so I'll be sticking with the regular version for now. I admit I'm having a hard time deciding between the shield drain or crowd control version. Guess I'll play with both builds and see where I will feel comfortable at.
