Tholian Red Alert

uniclonusuniclonus Member Posts: 18 Arc User
Is anyone else having a pig of a time finding this now? Seems that since the sector walls fell, the Red Alert pop-up covers the whole frickin' Quadrant, and you never know if it's Borg or Tholians (usually Borg). Can we get this thing easier to find, or maybe have a separate pop-up from the Borg ones so we can easily tell the difference?

yeah, you can't tell the difference unless you click on it, but I have been in a few

but being able to tell the difference at a glance would be nice, maybe put a symbol next to the red alert button

At least clicking on it just tells you the kind of alert, it does not send you there yet.

It is a little confusing when you finish one red alert and there is another one when you return to the galaxy map. Sometimes it is the same kind of alert again, sometimes it is the other kind. (Borg then Borg vs. Borg then Tholian, etc.)

Or maybe put text on the "warp to location" button to tell you where.... It's annoying to do a Red Alert then need to fly across the quadrant to get back to where I started.

Upon exiting the RA you go back to where you pressed the big red RA button so what is the problem?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Nope.

You click red alert, you get a message asking if you want to warp to the Borg or Tholians.

If you say yes, you transwarp to that undisclosed location. This can be halfway across the map.

Then you get a popup that allows you to enter the instance and fight the Borg or Tholians.

When you're done, you exit to the place you transwarped to, not your original location.

Odd, for me it's by far the most common. I would say 8/10 times I see that Red Alert it's Tholians.

Amen, I HATE this about the Red Alert system. At least tell me where I'm going before you warp me to a 'nearby sector' that's actually on the other side of the friggn Galaxy.

That wouldn't be a big problem if only that were true. What you put is how it SHOULD be, but it's not.

The Tholian one always drops me outside Sol System and the Borg ones just drop me in whatever random sector it put me in.
    Insert witty signature line here.

sometimes not even then, one time I did a tholian red alert and came out of it parked next to ESD, which was neither the location of the red alert nor where I was before I transwarped

That's even true for KDF Chars.
Not knowing where the Red Alert is becomes even worse when you jump across the whole quadrant just to land in a bugged Red Alert with no Command Ship to kill. You warp out and gotta fly back the whole way for othing.

It would be really great if there was a way to find out, where exactly the Red Alert is. I hope that's possible with the current tech.
