Leonard Nimoy's narrations are gone

Completely. The Data Recorder doesn't seem to do anything now except take up space. This just seems wrong, getting rid of the work this man did completely despite the memorials put up on Vulcan and New Romulus. Can't you just set up a group of sectors Sector space that trigger the accolades when you cross into them? I'd hate for his contributions to STO be limited now to the Fed starting a character video and the 'Past Imperfect' mission.

And on another note, Sela's narrations are gone as well, including the speech Romulan characters intercept on their own data recorder. That doesn't even fit, since the speech she made to a cheering crowd wasn't even part of Sector Space and was something you intercepted.

    Yeah... yeah.

    It's a huge loss, to memorialize Nimoy with a statue and then take away that iconic voice.

    For new players hearing Nimoy's voice was key to getting you immersed or at least semi-knowledgeable about the lore and story of the game. Hope that its a glitch/bug/quirk due to the revamp and will be worked on, not a feature permanently removed.

    I wonder if they could have the recorder work with the statue(s) and give his voice overs from there for the nostalgia?

    that must surely be a bug ... you can't possibly remove Nimoy's voice if you have any feeling for Star Trek ( which I believe the devs have ) and the importance of that man for the franchise

    I created a new character and have been flying around, I've heard all the same Nimoy recordings I always have.

    Dunno if this will work for anyone else, but I will note: I got tier 1 Iconian rep today. I got my date recorder thing after words, and once I finished listening to Sela, I hit 'Back' and then 'New Selection', and I was able to access the other messages. I only tested a couple, but they DID work.

    So the new "Data Recorder" from the T1 Iconian Reputation "replaces" the old-school data recorder.

    Of course, the new one needs to be slotted as a power to access - but it's there. I'll have to see if my KDF Delta (who hasn't gotten to the recorder) gets the new one or an older one...
