Romulan and Reman Recruitment

The Devs and GMs of Cryptic must REALLY HATE the Romulan Content, after all, you goto The Starfleet Academy, and, you can recruit, a Vulcan, Tellerite, and, an Andorian, Duty Officer, goto the Klingon Academy, you can recruit an Orion, Nausican, and, a Gorn Duty Officer, BUT, goto New Romulus, or, the Romulan Flotilla, and there are loads of Romulans and Remans walking around, BUT, you can't even recruit even one of them.

Think this is a HUGE OVERSIGHT, that needs to be fixed, heck, you can't even been part of the Tal Shair faction, your FORCED to play Federation, or, Klingon as an Ally.

You can recruit Romulan & Reman Duty officers,There's a station to do so in the command center.It's the rarity of getting the Recriut bridge officer duty mission that's the real problem.Most times a romulan has to use it's faction bridge officers to get all purple quality ones.the only time I have ever gotten a purple quality bridge officer is when you reach a high level and are awarded one.I have never seen a Review Romulan bridge officer duty mission ever appear on any of my Romulan characters

I take it you haven't explored New Romulus Command but hit the Panic Button right away instead.

I have run through both the Romulan Command, and, the Flotilla Command, ever since the Romulan content was added to the game, I've been a Lifer before the game became official, and, to date, there is no Romulan, or, Reman individual recuitment officer in either location, EXCEPT for the console that allows you to recruit the doffs, and, thats what I'm referring to, the 20 hour timed Duty Officer recruitment officers that are at the Starfeet and Klingon Academies.

Don't you think the 2 day doff recruitment assignments, which only award romulan or reman doffs, is enough for that? I mean you get to double up on those 2 day assignments, you get the romulan ones and the faction ones, and the faction ones can be turned into Starbase chow if you wanted to just have romulan and reman doffs. Roms get double the R&D assistance assignments as well.

And I'm not even disagreeing with the sentiment that roms get shafted in terms of faction equity. It's just... you picked like the worst example of that.

the core problem here is that we get romulan and reman doff from the console... what other species are in the Republic? none... Sure arguments could be made for suliban or acamarian but we cant play those races either... We also don't have our own academy to get them from... Vulcans, Gorn, etc are member species of their respective factions, and thus those recruiters make sense... We dont have member races yet.... or an academy to put recruiters in

An academy would be great. But for sure, it would need some member races besides Romulans and Remans. Granted, not many have been ever noted as allied with, or subject to, the Romulans in Trek lore. There are a few examples in various written works, though.

I'd be all-in for going the KDF route - take existing races, and say "yeah, 30+ years beyond the TNG era, and these two are allies." The Suliban are definitely on our side, and the Acamarians are in Tau Dewa space.

A Flaxian was associated with the Tal Shiar in DS9 - that's another option, and with on-screen evidence.

There are options, for sure. I just wish Cryptic would take them. Delta Recruitment and new players / new alts would be a great time to add to the Romulan faction options.

I'd say Yridians would be good. They also live there, and are neutral-ish.

But... The devs would need to make a doff pool for those and they like them big. I figure at bare minimum 4 for each combination of rarity/gender/specialty. Doesn't sound like a huge number... but there's what? 2 dozen specialties?

4*4*2*24= 768 per race. And each needs a picture, sure they'd probably end up reusing pictures, but even then... more time and work. In the case of Acamarians and Suliban, we have pictures already so that's one less step. there are a few Yridians, but not enough pics for 800-ish doffs.

I'd settle for just being able to grind Fed/KDF doffs in our doff recruitment console and be assured that I'd get RR doffs back.

the option to recruit Reman, and Alien Republic Characters would be nice.

i do rather like the whole randomly generated part of the Romulan Boff Recruiting from the personnel officer like that, tho more variety would be nice
