Is there a way to get enemy NPC ships to fight each other? For example, Borg fighting Borg? I thought maybe a Borg Cooperative could fight an NPC group of Borg, but the Contact won't engage. is there another way?
There are Cooperative mobs, I have one in the mission in my sig. It sounds like your using a contact though, and contacts cannot be involved in combat at all (I've seen them go boom from warp core damage though). Just use the combat groups and it'll work fine, if you don't like the Cooperative skin you can reskin the ships to use regular borg skins.
In alot of missions, I see enemy NPC ships attacking a friendly NPC ship, and the NPC ship never dies. How do we achieve this in our foundry missions?
Simple answer: you don't. At least, as far as I know.
There was talk about giving you the abiloity to disable ships in a foundry misison, like in regular misisons, but I don't know if that's been implemented yet. As of my last experience you must have the ship destroyed, whereupon it is resapwned as a disabled friendly. This makes it choppy as you don't know WHERE the enemy ship is going ot get destroyed in relation to the spawn, but most players ovelrook at as a limitation of the mechanics.
It's done by faction. Umm... are you sure we don't have Cooperative combat space mobs? I know we have ground mobs.
Most factions will fight all other factions.
it's a bit more complicated.
there are 7 different groups:
group 1 (borg, undine, tholians, voth, kazon, renegade federation/kvs) is containing npcs who fight every other npc.
group 2 (federation, federation allied klingons) fights every group except group 4 and itself.
group 3 (kdf allied starfleet, klingons, tos klingons, nausicaans, orions, gorn) fights every group except group 4 and itself.
group 4 (romulan rebublic, reman rebels, borg cooperative, kobali, benthan, neutral mastiff/saur/sehlat/targ/warrigul) fights every group except group 2, 3 and itself.
group 5 (enemy mastiff/saur/sehlat/targ/warrigul, fekihri, mugato, species m-113, mirror federation, devidians) fights every group except itself.
group 6 (romulans, remans, hirogen, elachi, neural parasites, vaadwaur) fights every other group except itself.
group 7 (dominon, cardassian, breen, true way) fights every other group except itself.
