Iconians and the Kelvans in the Andromeda Galaxy

In 'Uneasy Allies', you discover that the Dyson sphere the Iconians were using as a staging point for their direct invasion of the Milky Way was in the Andromeda Galaxy. We learned in TOS episode By Any Other Name that the Andromeda Galaxy was home to the Kelvan Empire, dominated by the non-humanoid Kelvans. They discovered dangerously rising radiation levels throughout their entire galaxy and sent multi-generational ships to neighboring galaxies to search for new territories and report on their suitability for conquest and occupation. Fortunately for the Milky Way, the Galactic Barrier destroyed the Kelvan ship sent there and the survivors were forced to take humanoid forms common to our galaxy. Their technology completely outclassed the 23rd century Federation technology of James T. Kirk's Enterprise and it took subtle undermining by Kirk and his officers taking advantage of the Kelvans' inexperience with humanoid forms.

There was another case of a species from the Andromeda Galaxy having traveled to the Milky Way, this one humanoid, who escaped their homeworld being destroyed by a supernova and established various outposts. They were long dead by the time Harry Mudd discovered one of their outposts staffed entirely by androids and led Kirk and his crew to the planet in TOS episode I, Mudd.

A supernova destroying an advanced race's homeworld? Radiation propagating throughout an entire galaxy, likely through subspace? Sounds suspiciously like the Iconians and the way they blew up Hobus to destroy Romulus and Remus. To me it sounds as if they were eliminating their competition in their new galaxy while remaining safely secure inside their Dyson spheres. It makes one wonder if the Kelvans are going to play a role in the Iconian War.

Certain Star Trek novels are known for connecting Star Trek episodes together. The Q Continuum trilogy, Department of Temporal Investigations novels, The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh novels, and From History's Shadow novel all try to connect various Star Trek episodes together. So it makes sense that STO would do it too.
