what happened?

What gives with messing about with all the bridge officer abilities? I had all mine setup the way I needed and the latest patch has decided otherwise.
Spent time and effort setting them up before, and now have to do it all over again?

    This has been an ongoing bug for a long time. (I believe since before december.) However, congratz on just getting it now! :D

    Despite what the patch notes may say about them removing this bug, they never do. :rolleyes:

    As was stated above, this bug is months old and they have attempted to fix it many times - it is referenced in several different Patch Notes. If a fix comes it will probably require an entire new Code Branch update, and they only seem to do about 1 of those a year.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Loadouts are your friend for this sort of thing.

    Bah, my BOFFs reset their abilities every time I log into the game.


    Occasionally they'll do it between maps. They're also very fond of unseating themselves at random points. Honestly this "new" BOFF system has been nothing but a big headache for me.

    That's not the new Boff system as this one works mostly fine (despite sometimes having the Boff refusing to have a new power slotted in their ground abilities, but it was much worse at the beginning), this bug has been around several months before the Boff abilities/manual revamp, AFAIK.

    Which is also why some people are even more unhappy: even when they had time to revamp the system, they didn't even bother to/couldn't fix the problem.

    Yes, it works for most (but not all) cases where BOFFs go AWOL. But I can break it just by deleting a ship or a boff (both unused at the time) without exception. The loadout then becomes useless.
