Any chance we can get an update on when you will be re-re-releasing No Win Scenario?
Or, can we get any information regarding NWS and its progress? It has been many months now and. . . . nothing.
Could you at least release the original version of it while you guys are tinkering? You guys literally took away the BEST end-game content of STO, and my fear is that it will go the way of Terradome--never to return.
So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back NWS. We had a rather large community with multiple channels devoted to NWS. Hell, you guys featured it in a blog post, etc. And now . . . . [crickets chirping], we have not had any update in forever.
Because No Win Scenario was designed for level 50 and P2W was making it easier to defeat it. Therefore, it needs to be redesigned so it is a No Win Scenario again. When an elite team with less than 5 members can beat it on a constant basis, then there is something wrong with it.

So why is HSE in the game? Or BDE? Or VCE? Or literally any other elite queue?

Well actually Cryptic *DID* do a NWS redesign with an Elite difficulty and everything, and it was fully destroyed promptly as a result of their own stupid powercreep cashgrab game design
So rather than admit that they are on the wrong path, or fix it, they took it out. Hope nobody notices! These are not the NWS you are looking for
i look for kobiashi maru , its so tuff that you have ta re-program it to win
Yes, let's encourage some actual exploiting why don't we... and spelling while we're at it.
Don't need exploiting for that. Just have an entirely randomly generated interaction sequence with invisible objects somewhere on the map, and if you somehow activate all 11 invisible interaction points in the exactly correct order involving 36 interactions, you get a slightly less OP final wave!
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
They should make NWS, literally a no win scenario. Each wave gets progressively more difficult with more and more ships until you're ultimately overrun and defeated. Then, it becomes just a competition to see how far you can go.

The 'problem' with that test is that everyone is doing it right, even Kirk did it right... What they should be doing is putting themselves between the attackers and the freighter and then beaming everyone off the freighter before warping away. It's all you can do if you want to come out alive.

I am sure a transporter malfunction (or another thing of the myriad of things existing in Star Trek making transporters useless when you need them ) will not allow you to do that. The scenario is designed to let you face your own defeat and death of your crew. There cannot be a way out.

It has been proven already that no matter how much Cryptic tries, DPS Wizards will eventually beat everything. It would be easier for them if they'd just ignore those 166 who do 75k+ DPS and make it feel like no-win for everyone else.

My death? Don't I just hit the Respawn button?
One nice thing though, now we only hear about people being awarded such-and-such ship. Where did all those Original Thinkers head off to? Are we done with original thinking now?

"Original thinkers"? Please, dps maniacs more like.
NWS is a joke. I've seen a video of a 2 person run and that was with none of the power creep items DR brought with it.
As it stands right now, there is so much new power creep in the game that it would be easy to do even if they scale it up to level 60. And that's not even considering all the potential new power creep that will come with season 10.5 and 11.
Until Cryptic manages to get a handle on the exploding power creep and balances the most egregious examples of unbalanced abilities and items that exist in the game right now there will never be any challenging endgame content.
My death? Don't I just hit the Respawn button? (...)
It was a remark about the canon "Kobayashi Maru" And it shows that STOs "NWS" had basically nothing to do with the premise of it.

That was the original idea, until a combination of player complaints and power creep made it a winnable scenario.

But it's not "winnable" if it literally has no end. Power creep becomes meaningless in this scenario, because eventually, you will be outclassed/overrun.

In the canon kobayashi maru, the captins faced a small group of enemies (3 or 5 cruisers). In STO we obliterate hundreds of them - I'd like to see interesting combat scenrios like that, having to actually work against a ship of your own weightclass and see it get tough against the bigger ones.

If there was PvP that would not require maxed out specializations and expensive traits I would even try that. But even if some people are willing to just use base ships, common basic consoles and weapons the specializations and passive boni cannot be disabled.

You're talking about a fair fight. NWS is not a fair fight. If people truly wanted a NWS scenario they would be PvP'ing 1 vs 3 or 3 vs 5.

Not sure if any of you have tried the Advanced version nevermind won. I am also having doubts of you guys winning the easy mode. All I see are complaints about the easy mode.. LOL
